Pretty sure they have. I think second gets 100k and third gets 50k. This one hundred percent affects gameplay and I think a lot of people are totally content taking home 100 or 50k for a month in the jungle. It's like a poker tournament where most people are playing to reach the money or final table.

I think that was the main unstated beauty of Rob's game: he made everyone in his crew feel like they were his Number 2. In most alliances people generally know when they're at the bottom of the totem pole and wind up making moves to shake things up since they have nothing to lose.

Googled it and apparently the payscale is around:

Winner, $1,000,000
Runner-up, $100,000
3rd, $85,000
4th, $70,000
5th, $55,000
6th, $45,000
7th, $35,000
8th, $27,500
9th, $20,000
10th, $15,000
11th, $10,000
12th, $7,500
13th, $5,500
14th, $4,500
15th, $3,500
16th, $2,500

I would gander only Katie from Pulau, Sugar and Phillip are the only 3 finalists in the shows history who made no attempt to win and were content just to collect finalists prize money and get as much air time as they could.

Even some really hopeless finalists like this seasons Natalie, Dreamz, Russell,Twila,Danielle,Clay were doing everything they thought they needed to get the win and in there own minds probably thought they had a chance to win.

Since most of the people in the cast were recruited through modeling and acting agencies for most of the contestants thats an additional 10-15% off the prize money before the Taxman gets his cut as well .

I'm almost positive that it's been that way from season 1. I know for certain I've known about that pay scale since way, way, way back. Seems I remember thinking good for Rudy that he at least got $85K.

Julie was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of line. Questioning someone's abilities as a father based on how they played a GAME? i so wanted to hit her with the ugly stick she already knows too well...

David was great in his address to to the jury. Wish he had called them out for being whiny babies, too.
I'm sure they give the same sanctimonious speeches every time someone wins a hand of poker by bluffing.

In its own way Davids speech was just as sanctimonious and holier than thou and a blatant attempt to gain sway with the Producers.

Yeah, I thought his was lame also, even though I agree with much of what he said.

It may have been mentioned in the 15 previous pages, but was anybody else as uncomfortable with David's proposal to that nutbag chick as I was? How long did he know her, 4 months?

I did, and thinks she looks like a hooker that he just got too gaga over.
Also to the previous poster why would the producers care what he said and what "sway" would there be for him to get from the producers?

So did Ralph's single vote for Phile earn him an extra $7500? If Natalie and Phil both had zero votes, I'm assuming they would have been consiidered tied for 2nd place and split the combined prizes for 2nd and 3rd place which would have given them each $92500.

I think besides the fact that she looks like a total tranny, it was really uncomfortable because you could totally tell she didn't want to marry him. Then you could see the point when he realized it too. Then everyone realized it. I was partially drunk and I couldn't even handle how awkward it was.

Since it looks like every season from here on out will end up with returning contestants I would say imploring the rest of the jury to vote for one of Producers Jeff Probsts favorite all time contestants seems like a smart way to get on his good side.

I would go as far as to say if that dude ever ends up on another season based on his boot placement and how little face time he got going into the final episode that his FTC speech singlehandily would be what ends up getting him on a 2nd season.

That guy is totally forgettable. His return on another season would be sad.

No, they would have both gotten 2nd place money, so that vote cost Natalie $15,000.

If that's true then whenever they have the final vote be for 3 people they would be spending more in prize money. Maybe that's the case. Although I think everyone unofficially views the person with the second most votes as taking 2nd place. So for this season I consider that Phil took 2nd place and Natalie took 3rd place. Maybe that doesn't correspond to the actual prize money they get though.

Maybe David met her while doing pro bono work for "Call Saul".

You have to admit that it would have livened things up if she'd said, "Are you freaking kidding me? Take a hike, you loser."

And then revealed that she had the hots for Ralph.

And, yes, (since you asked) I'd say that Rob's televised wedding didn't hurt. I'd say any experience in front of tv cameras would help, although I wouldn't bring that up at Tribal.
I agree 100%.

As a past contestant, especially on past Survivor, you know how to prepare yourself physically before the show, how to eat on the show, when to drink, when to rest, how to look good around camp, how players react to things, when things generally happen, how Jeff's questions will be during tribal, etc....

Re: Survivor: Redemption Island – Season Finale – Sunday, May 15th, 2011

Here is what they need to do to fix these lame reunion shows:

(Jeff Probst I hope you are reading this!)

1. Don't show or talk to ANYONE in the audience. I don't care to see or hear from ANYONE that was not on this season! (The Phil Agent girl... Jimmy Johnson's Friends... Amber and Baby... Past contestants... Proposals... etc.)

2. Don't allow any of these contestants to pump their own agendas. (Playing guitar... Helping disadvantaged kids... Aids research... What-ever...)

3. Get rid of that frigging band. They should have NO PART in the reunion.

4. The Winner should not be allowed to go into the audience to hug his family. Save it for later.

5. Jeff should only ask questions relevant to the game that was played during the season. THATS ALL WE CARE ABOUT AT THE POINT OF THE REUNION! Fill that hour with relevant probing questions.

6. Jeff should quick sugar coating things and kissing the contestants asses!

- Rob, how do you feel about calling your team idiots?

- Team, how do you feel about Rob calling you idiots?

- Grant, how could you have thought that Rob would take you, such a strong, well liked player to the final 3????

- Phil, why would you throw the race card out there like that? Do you regret it?

- Phil and chick I cant remember already who was sitting next to Rob in the finals, why did you basically tell the jury to vote for Rob?

...and on, and on.

FILL THAT HOUR WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GAME THAT JUST TOOK PLACE.

Cut the fluff!

Hey I actually don't mind that. Yeah, it's returning players, but at least not the same old.
