In before the complaints about an episode that hasn't even aired yet.

I'm keeping an open mind about this; I enjoy Farrell and think this season has been better than the sixth. From the sounds of it, it could be a very enjoyable episode!

Whose going to complain about the best episode EVER (British and American)?

I love that every time Angela brings up her Senator boyfriend it cuts to Oscar making a face.

Erin answering the phone: "I'm so sorry."

Deangelo: "What is the Native American girl's name?"

Overall I thought it was a pretty good introduction and I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the show. I'm glad Will Ferrell didn't play his typical man-child in this role. Instead, he played it relatively straight and I thought it worked much better that way. I like that he's much more no-nonsense than Michael and his reactions to Jim and Pam talking about their baby were great.

The best line of the night though belonged to Andy...

Andy: "I guess this is my life now." rotfl

(Where was Creed? Was he just in the background and I missed him?)

This almost felt uncomfortable to watch. Ferrell seemed out of place, and his acting was vapid at best. My only chuckle came with the cold opening to Parks and Rec.

Wanted to love it but just liked it. I laughed out loud at Andy's line too

Andy's insane antics with the Cheez Balls and the coffee cracked me up, and then his line after that of course. I thought I wasn't going to like Will Ferell in this, but his toned down approach was really good, and the whole opening sequence was really well done.

Had some definite funny moments, but the actions of the rest of the office, particularly Darryl, really bothered me. The sucking up was way too much and not believable to me, even by The Office standards.

I found it totally believable. The rest of the office aren't idiots; they know that while Michael is a joke most of the time, he was a pretty easy-going boss who never really pushed them to do anything or got on anyone's case for not doing their work. With him leaving they might have someone who behaves like an actual boss and so they want to do everything they can to get on his good side right from the start.

I thought Ferrell wasn't bad at all, but I'm still continuing to feel more and more "meh" about this show as time goes on.

Well, I didn't hate Ferrell nearly as much as I usually do. I still wouldn't want to see him on the show permanently, however.

I didn't find much to laugh at in this episode, although I did chuckle when Erin put the shaving cream on Michael, just because it looked ridiculous.

Was that Darryl's sister, dropping off the cowboy gear to him?

I enjoyed it. The physical "comedy" from Andy was my fav. And Erin saying sorry when answering the phone was great.

The way Erin scooped the shaving cream off Michael's face was funny.

Is Will Ferrell's role permanent?

So I'm guessing you just missed that entire arc with Charles Miner.

D'Angelo likes the southwest, so Darryl really wanted to be a kiss ass and dress up like a cowboy.

Spoiler:
No. His character has a four episode arc which will end with the season finale.

I really just about died when Dwight realizes Michael did nothing to recommend him for his position. It will be interesting to see if they actually allow Dwight to hold a grudge longer than a single episode.

I thought some of the jokes didn't hit home... it felt like kind of an off episode. It was still pretty good overall though. I like the character they gave Will Ferrall.

Jim and Pam were insufferable as the 'check out our baby' couple.

I got why he had the gear dropped off, I just wasn't sure if it was a reappearance by his sister.

I'm predicting that the whole point of Ferrell's character is to make the audience think this character is a no-brainer Michael Scott replacement (with Ferrell's association with Carell being sort of the real-world meta equivalent) only to have him be a disasterous replacement and hated character by the end of his 4-episode arc. There are certainly hints of it in last night's episode.

I also think this is why Ferrell himself was playing up the idea of him appearing all year next year. I'm guessing all that will seem pretty ridiculous after some sort of epic crash-and-burn or blowout with the character.

Michael has to disagree with his running of the office to put in a recomendation for Dwight. That'll open up the flood gates and everyone will apply for the job.
