Wednesday: Two hour performance show, 8/7c
Thursday: One hour results show, 8/7c -- Two are sent home. Not sure who will be performing though it's possible that Elton John will be the guest performer. He's on the performance circuit for some reason, this week he'll be hosting Saturday Night Live and performing with Leon Russell.

Next week the performance show will be 90 minutes.

The last time that Elton John was the theme was in Season 3, Top 9. The songs that were performed at that time were:

If you see a reference to ‘80s night, that was the original theme for this week but it was changed shortly afterwards to Elton John week. The sudden change is what leads me to believe that he became available to perform on Thursday.

:lol: It's amazing how most of the people here were loving Casey during the auditions and Hollywood week and now he's become one of the most hated contestants right now.

:thumbsup: Loved Lauren Alaina last week and I liked Pia also, even though most here thought she was boring. Hopefully Pia will do something more up tempo this week.

Lauren was tops for me tonight. That was a really nice arrangement of Candle in the Wind which is good 'cuz i really never need to hear the song done "as is" ever again ;)

Yeah, Stefano wasn't very good but the reggae version of Still Standing was hilariously awful. The arrangement, phony cartoon accent, arrogance, all of it.

Lauren, Haley, and Casey were best.

Jacob is beginning to lose my attention.

Did anyone else notice that Scotty's grandma was in the audience??

I can see Thia and Stefano leaving. I don't like Jacob Lusk, but he seems to be popular for now.

Liked Lauren, Pia (although I am sick and tired of her singing ballads), Casey and Haley.

Getting tired of Scotty. I know he's a country singer, but he sounds the same every single week. I'm not a fan of his, but I would like to see him do something different than these same old slow classic country arrangements.

I was a fan of Thia early on, but she seems stuck in mediocrity right now. She's played it safe with really slow and sleepy songs.

:lol: Naima was hilariously bad. I can see her and Stefano being in the bottom and gettng voted out.

Also, I'm getting kind of frustrated with Jacob. I totally agree with Jimmy Iovine that Jacob tends to over-dramatize his performances.

Not sure what show you were watching but Haley's performance was atrocious.

Naima is absolutely going home. Stephano and Thea are going to be the rest of the bottom three and each really needs to go.

Yeah, I didn't hate her performance, but I don't get the praise, and definitely don't think she'll even make the top 4.

I agree. I like the tone of her voice and her occasional growl, but I think she overdid last night. She is awkward onstage. Her slide off the piano was cringe worthy and her arm waving was really distracting.

That being said, I rather watch and listen to her than to be bored to tears by Thia Magia..she might just be too young a 15/16 year old (compared to Lauren) to have any real attachment to songs yet. She goes through the motion. I think its time she leaves.

I was sort of split on Haley's performance. I like the growl and the gusto, but the way she sang the "buh buh buh" part was pure unintentional comedy for me. It reminded me of a bully making fun of a stutterer.
