Doesn't that psych out shit get old? Contestants do it when they get a golden ticket. Judges do it when deciding which groups go through in Hollywood and then again when making the final cuts and then it's Seacrest's turn. I like how on DWTS they're always straight forward about it.

Seacrest was an ass last night but I thought it was a nice departure from everybody else being so nice.

He's probably bored because he can't fake fight with Simon anymore.

This show is really tired now, and it shows.

I think at the start Tyler was really into it. But now he just seems to want it to just be over with. He just parrots what the other judges say.

 I liked how J-Lo is constantly using "Baby" when talking to contestants.

Just like she said "I'm sorry Baby" to Ashton's final performance.

I didn't mind Ashton leaving the show. She didn't really make a huge impression on me other than being a wanna be Beyonce/Diva.

 at Randy going back to his same tired old ways during the live shows. And what the hell happened to the promised 30 minute results show? That was another hour of fluff again.

 I'm still pulling for Lauren, Pia, Thia or Jacob to win it.

I'm a little mixed on having the contestants working with the Producers and Jimmy Iovine. I think part of the attraction of this show is seeing the contestants grow from being very raw talent. Some of the performances from Wednesday night felt a little too manufactured/professionally produced for me. On the upside, at least they are going some real professional advice from people behind the scenes and sitting in a recording studio than those worthless mentor segments from previous seasons.

From a blog at Joe's Place, Casey's medical problem is probably has a bleeding ulcer.

... It seems that whenever Casey gets stressed out he has stomach bleeding – not sure if it is an actual bleeding ulcer (though that’s what it sounds like). Casey has been staying in a separate room from the other Idols so he could rest. To my source, Casey is NOT making a big deal out of this at all. Poor kid. Nineteen years old and a bleeding ulcer.

I understand your point, but look at it from the contestant perspective, this is their best shot at a singing career. Many of them aren't professional and they should get all the help they can get. They go from being an average Joe with a low paying job or school to a public that expects them to be amazing and if not, they sometimes become a national joke. Sort of unfair and harsh but that's the reality of it. If possible, I feel the producers should give them every advantage they can to prevent them from falling on their faces in such a public arena.
