From writer, executive producer and series showrunner Veena Sud (Cold Case), The Killing is based on the wildly successful Danish television series Forbrydelsen and tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation. Season one will consist of thirteen one-hour episodes, each covering 1 day of the murder investigation. The Killing ties together three distinct stories around a single murder including the detectives assigned to the case, the victim's grieving family, and the suspects. Set in Seattle, the story also explores local politics as it follows politicians connected to the case. As the series unfolds, it becomes clear that there are no accidents; everyone has a secret, and while the characters think they've moved on, their past isn't done with them. |

Looks interesting, but obviously we`ve all seen murder mysteries before, the trailer didn`t really give me a unique `hook`...the dad and the snotty kid with the big apartment seem like the main suspects.

If this is the same Danish TV series that was also adapted into a British TV series as well, then I'm pretty excited to see it. It's supposedly pretty darn good.

No HD on DirecTV, yet another AMC show I won't watch. Breaking Bad is the only exception to my stand against the lack of HD on DirecTV.

I'm getting tired of that end music piece. It's in EVERYTHING these days (Kick Ass just to name one).
And yeah, this doesn't seem like it's going to be all that original. |

More AMC original programming (although not all that original since a remake). Anyway, yeah I'll tune in.

Are you serious? If they're gonna pick 2 of the 3, those two would be the obvious choices. Unless you just wanted them to throw Breaking Bad in at the end there just to have it there, and thereby make the sentence unnecessarily long.

Eh, just surprised they chose to leave it off. There's an easy way to include it if they wanted to. They only have 3 shows -- odd they chose to mention only 2 of them -- considering that BB is arguably their biggest critical darling (though most ratings-challenged).

Honestly, new AMC series was enough for me. The only thing in recent years they've done that didn't work was the Prisoner remake, and even that had it's moments (I liked Ruth Wilson a lot in it).
