Two and a Half Men to suspend production for the rest of season

Re: Two and a Half Men to suspend production for the rest of season
How would they replace Charlie Sheen with another actor? Would Stamos (or whoever) just start playing that same character, or would he be Charlie's heretofore unseen cousin who moves into his house while Charlie is away at rehab or playing in a touring band? The latter sounds a little too Coy and Vance to pull off, and the former doesn't really work either, since the character is basically Charlie Sheen playing himself.

I bet the kid who plays Jake isn't happy with Charlie
Once Two and a half men ends, his acting career is over. He's the Tina Yothers of this decade

They should just bring in Emilio as his replacement, I'm sure he's not terribly busy. I know he guest starred on one episode, but that's rewritable.

Here is the Stern interview with him........I found it entertaining, but not as entertaining as the porn star interview he gave.....It is 3 parts, watch the other two on youtube....
<object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lo6S6MGG0yM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lo6S6MGG0yM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>
I know I could put this in the meltdown thread, but fuck that.....I support this thread, even though I have never watched an episode of 2 and a half men.

I was thinking about that yesterday...time to get serious... I hope he has two parents that raised him well enough to not see Sheen as some kind of twisted role model. Although it makes you wonder since they had to know of Sheen's transgressions over the years and still allowed him to continue working with Sheen.
Speaking of, I wonder why no one else from the show has commented at all.

Everyone, including CBS, should just move on. Cancel the show, stop booking Sheen for interviews. No sitcom needs to go past 8 years anyway.

Charlie Sheen Fired From 'Two And A Half Men'

It's over for Charlie Sheen on CBS' hit comedy Two and a Half Men. The series producer Warner Bros. TV just released the following statement: "After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately."
Just like the studio did with its previous statement announcing the cancellation of Men for the rest of this season, Warner Bros. TV stopped short of announcing the end of the series, meaning that continuing the sitcom with a new actor is a possibility. Men has one more season under a multi-year pickup at CBS.
The decision by Warner Bros. TV follows a relentless media blitz by the Two and a Half Men star who has been taking swipes at CBS, Warner Bros. and the show's co-creator executive producer Chuck Lorre. He also launched a Web-based series, Sheen's Korner, and is in talks with HDNet for unscripted/talk show projects.
It is a sad end to one of the most successful sitcom run for an actor. For the past (almost) eight seasons, Sheen reinvigorated his career amassing a fortune along the way, commanding about $1.5 million an episode under his most recent contract for the show.
Today's decision is sure to fuel a legal war between Sheen and Warner Bros. In preparation, the studio last week hired top attorneys Ron Olsen and John Spiegel. Sheen's litigation lawyer, Marty Singer, last week fired a letter to the studio complaining of its treatment of the Men star over the production shutdown of the show but stopped short of launching a full-blown lawsuit.

That's a lot of money for being fat and stumbling your way through "I over-ate and then stunk up the bathroom with my enormous bowel movement" jokes.
This is a new definition of "overpaid" : Getting $300K per episode to co-star in a show where almost nobody in America even knows what your name is.

I have the perfect way to continue the show. Reverse the role for the Alan character... Charlie dies and leaves him everything, then a relative/friend moves in and starts mooching off Alan.

Here's how they need to open the next season:
Alan and Jake enter the house, wearing suits.
Jake: "I can't believe Uncle Charlie got ten years."
Alan: "Well I can't believe he thought that girl was 18."
(laugh track)

Has anyone noticed that Charlie now has over 2.1 million followers on Twitter now? Is that some kind of record in just under a week?
EDIT: I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in this but:

Simple but effective. It would explain his disappearance with karma coming back to bite him for his lifestyle.

I've watched almost all of the show, and you're right. I have no idea what his name is, but that's a problem with shows now (with little to no credit openings and DVRs) at least for me. $300K/ep....wow.

Re: Two and a Half Men to suspend production for the rest of season
In the kid's (his character's name is Jake) defense, the first two to three seasons he had quite a bit of screen time and was responsible for some of the show's funniest moments. I recall reading a few years back he was making $30k per episode for a long time. CBS has been raking in the money like crazy on the show and if they hadn't ponied up for Sheen, neither he nor Cryer would be making as much as they are, but CBS felt Sheen was worth the money and both felt they should get an increase as well.

Re: Sheen getting fired. Is there anyone who didn't see this coming? I'm just surprised it took this long. I can't remember a celebrity imploding quite like Sheen, especially at his age. He needs serious help because he doesn't have a clue. And until he gets his shit together, his career is officially dead. Not even sure any rehab could help at this point. The only job he can get at this point is one of those damn reality shows. Which would just take him deeper in his abyss of bad choices. And those two million followers on Twitter are those rubber neckers at a highway accident.
