Seth loses the election for sheriff. (Interestingly Seth and Martha had 2 girls before they had a son).
Swearengen and Tolliver still own their saloons. (Swearengen until 1898).
Merrick is still producing his paper.
From history Utter moves on, as does Jane.
All the whores are still whores, except for those who were killed for some reason or other.
Wu is still leading the Chinese faction.
I would suppose season 4 would be about the town's reaction to Yankton and the corruption that follows. Which doesn't really sound as interesting.

There may be better shows, though a very very small list but no show has ever had better dialogue. Ever. It is magical, cocksuckers.

I think they might just fast forward 5 or 10 years in the story. What needs to happen is for this to grow from a movie to 2 movies to a mini-series to oh fuck it here's season 4.

This was my fucking favorite show. The BD set is a goddamn treasure of mine. Those cocksuckers better do this. I swear to your shitty little white baby Jesus that they do this. Cuz then I won't do shit but I'll might pissed and goddamn frustrated by the tease from those cocksuckers.

I always thought it was funny how the show ended abruptly. I actually always wondered how the fuck the Joanie and Jane aspect was awkward to leave like that. Hahahahaha.

Brilliant. I have honestly never invested in a TV show since this one was abruptly cancelled. It broke my heart.

Oh, and they better make sure that the fuckin' canned peaches are open!

Just doesn't seem likely. They'd have to start from scratch pretty much, and only the die hard watchers even recall how it ended, which is a recipe for a flop.

I'd like to see it happen, but my gut instinct says that's about a 5% chance.

I wonder if the potential reboot has anything to do with HBO wanting to get their money's worth out of the WESTWORLD sets? Too cynical of me?

So you're saying there's a chance...

Seriously, I would rather live in a world where there is a hope of it coming back than the one we have been living, with no hope.

re: Deadwood Wrap-Up Movie - Officially Greenlit at HBO

Reports of a Deadwood comeback have not been greatly exaggerated. Quite the opposite, in fact.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo confirmed to TVLine that he personally gave series creator David Milch the green light to resurrect the acclaimed yet painfully short-lived Western.

“David has our commitment that we are going to do it,” says Lombardo. “He pitched what he thought generally the storyline would be — and knowing David, that could change. But it’s going to happen.”

The exec says that the revival — which would take the form of a movie versus a limited series — was born out of a “palpable” sense he had that Milch “has something left unsaid” with regard to Deadwood, adding “I’ve known him for a while and it feels like it’s something he’s not done talking about.”

Timing wise, Lombardo says Milch has another project he’s currently working on, “But the understanding is that when he is done with that he will turn his attention to [writing the] script for the Deadwood film.”

And what about the potential scheduling nightmare that awaits trying to corral the show’s busy, in-demand cast? “I’m going to leave that in David’s hands,” Lombardo says with a smile. “He’s confident he will be able to.

“The cast is unbelievably [tight],” he adds. “Some casts and creators form a bond that becomes relevant for the rest of their lives. This was a defining moment for a lot of them.”

Seems like a bit of a waste to get everyone together again just for a movie. It'd be nice if it was at least 5 or 6 episodes. I'll still watch it, but at this point, my interest is pretty low.

I'm going to guess they'll end up with like 3 or 4 hours of footage and then cut it to advertise as an event series...regardless of what the plan is now.

re: Deadwood Wrap-Up Movie - Officially Greenlit at HBO

One of the few threads where calling someone a cocksucker is more a term of endearment and not a personal attack :-)

This time at least the HBO programming prez has given the green light. Many of the times before it was the actors saying "there is hope, etc". A shame it's just a movie but I'm game.

I'm the most hopeful I've been since it ended and feel like I've just been told something pretty.

And if you haven't seen "Deadwood Pancakes": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f31PLcCXD0U

re: Deadwood Wrap-Up Movie - Officially Greenlit at HBO

Seems like it wouldn't be that much more of a logistical effort to do a series run as compared to a movie, unless of course they just don't feel there is that much more story to tell. Once everyone signs off, sets are built, etc, why not do a six- or eight-parter? I'm not saying it's the same thing as doing a 2-hour movie, but you've already done 90% of the work needed to make it a series instead.

So they pretty much have to bring on Goggins and Burns for something, right?

At the TCA conference the president of HBO said Milch is currently writing the script for the movie.

I heard an unconfirmed report that the Deadwood sets out in the Valencia area got burned down during the recent fires this past week. So I'm not sure what impact that might have on production on this movie moving forward.

That's good news!

It took 9 years for a Scottish sitcom (Still Game) I like to finally come back, so I won't be giving up hope on Deadwood returning!
