Lots of comedies returning tonight. I'm doing this thread 1st since it's probably the most anticipated comedy premiere of the new year. I'll do the rest later today.

Definitely my most anticipated premiere of the 2010-2011 television season. I'm really glad NBC finally gave this the 9:30 timeslot so it can benefit from The Office as a lead-in. Hopefully the ratings pick up so it gets renewed for a 4th season.

Yeah, I really fell for this show a couple months ago streaming it from Netflix.
I think the show (obviously) adopted the Office formula and here I think it's close to perfected. I find the show to be more intelligent and the characters far more rounded out, varied and interested. There are comparisons to be made between Michael Scott and Leslie Knope but P&R quickly (and smartly) shied away from conveniently switching Leslie from moronic/intelligent/oblivious/competent for the sake of a bit or plot, instead opting to craft a character that feels consistent and likable. I hope they keep up the good work here in the 3rd season.

It got a full season pickup... Maybe they are holding the 6 back for summer?

Yeah I heard it got a full 22 episode season, so I was confused by futoncritic only listed it as a 16 episode season. Plus didn't they shoot a bunch of episodes last Spring because Poehler was pregnant. So if anything they should be more than capable to crank out a full season.

I can not wait for this - I've been counting down the days since September - my favourite comedy on TV right now. Just rewatched Season 2 this week to get pumped up for it. Hope it does better in the ratings!

I like that they sort of did a recap of what happened in Season 1 and 2 for people that might just now be checking the show out for the first time.
It's funny...in the preview that was on the Season 2 DVD Leslie threw Jerry's art supplies into the lake, not the painting itself. Probably a deleted scene.

Ron Swanson's pyramid of greatness is hilarious. I will have to find it online

Man, I've missed this show so much. So glad to have it back. Everyone was great tonight. It had just the right mixture of humor and heart. Really glad to see that they haven't taken a step back with all the time off. Last season was so great and they haven't missed a beat with this premiere.
I love how they're using the Harvest Festival as a metaphor for the show.
And the storylines they're continuing/developing are great. Can't wait to see where they go this season!

When Ron appeared in that red sweater on the basketball court, I kept waiting for this:

I have seen a few episodes before but the season premiere was great. I was glad they had a summary of last season so I was able to understand what went on. I need to catch up on the previous seasons.

Glad you liked it. It's rgreat to hear that the recap worked and someone who hasn't been watching it all along still really enjoyed it.
