I still like the water logo more. =)

Did Scott Caan get nominated for a Golden Globe for this show or Entourage? I can't believe it would be for this show, but still, his role in Entourage was pretty insubstantial as well.

Nevertheless, glad this show is back!

I like the mix up the photos when possible. There is at least 7-8 different promotional photos of 5-0 and most of them are pretty silly like them having drinks on the beach or the tuxedo one you saw earlier this season.

Re: Hawaii Five-O -- "Ke Kinohi" -- 1/03/11

I thought this episode was pretty good. A little sloppy and rushed in some parts, but fun. I'm enjoying this serialized arc with McGarrett trying to solve his Mother's murder and the ties to the Japanese Yakuza.

I had to laugh at Mark Dacascos 1 minute cameo at the end where he just said his name..."Wo Fat" He's been in 2 episodes and has probably less than 3 sentences of dialogue. I know they are leading into something bigger with him in this arc.

I love that there are 2 badass Asian villains with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa's character and Dacascos.....hopefully he will have more dialogue soon.

The worst part of the episode was the young Asian actors who played the Yakuza members. They looked more like cartoon punk rockers than badass Yakuza members.

Best part of the episode was them writing out McGarrett's sister and her heading back to LA. I'm not a fan of Taryn Manning and I thought the Mary Ann character sucked.

Nice of the kidnappers to let the McG's sister keep her cell phone while riding in the trunk.

That had to be the lamest and most bumbling group of Yakuza thugs ever seen.

The lame plots is preventing me from loving this show. I like the look of the show in HD but the plot and the acting is annoying. This show reminds me a lot of CSI Miami. That's not a good thing.

This episode was sort of lame but most have been pretty solid IMHO.

I liked this episode. Not much to add to what DJariya said.

As for the Yakuza thugs, Chin mentioned that they weren't true Yakuza, and Kono even referred to them as "punks". Guess that's what the writers were going for.

Can't wait to see them put Wo Fat in action!

That was a hell of an Introduction for McGarret to have to Wo Fat. I liked how he almost seemed to sense something was off with the guy, without even knowing him. Cheesy maybe, but I like that classic, ominous good guy/big bad chemistry.

Liked this episode overall. I had to laugh when McGarret's sister had the line "Our dad was a cop and you're like some ninja!", because everytime McGarret fights I think the same thing, with all his leg sweeps and flips and such.

Really? Some Yakuza on the beach in Waikiki try to shoot at McGarrett when their getaway car is parked right next to 2 HPD vehicles?

Locals don't say 'garbage', we say 'rubbish'. Yeah, I know, but it still bugs me with the handling of the local flavor. Why do I watch? So I can see home on a weekly basis.

Nice to see Tagawa. He's pretty much a fixture on the sidelines at UH Football games.

Is anyone keeping a body count for all the goons that McGarrett and the rest of the 5-0 kill? I think there were 4 or 5 this episode.

I started out liking this series, but it is becoming too cartoonish.

I love how they have no reservations about whipping out the guns in a crowded market square or beach and just start firing away.

With Human Target failing to give me my Jack Bauer-ish fix this season, McGarett and Danno seem to be doing the trick.

I agree. I don't watch this for a realistic look at police work. I want to see a shootout every episode. In the real world if a cop shot as many people as the 5 0 guys they would probably be flying a desk. I like this show.
