Santa tracking on the news
Does it piss off anyone else that perfectly legitimate news channels (or is just local new shows), on Christmas, start tracking Santa's trip around the world? I cannot explain how angry this makes me. News organizations, in my opinion, shouldn't be doing that kind of crap. Anyone else agree or am I just a big Scrooge-y stick in the mud?

Re: Santa tracking on the news
News shows (especially local ones) are full of human interest stories. This is just one of them. This bothers me less then the "reporting" on Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan et.al.

I'm staying out of this one. For now.

Re: Santa tracking on the news
National news organizations have so many failings that are actually harmful to our society, and local news programs do so many stupid and objectionable things, I can't be upset about them having a little fun tonight.

I have a hard time buying the notion that Santa visited Tehran.

Re: Santa tracking on the news
But that red nose of Rudolph's, that's got to be worse than lighting three on a match.
Anyway, yeah, since the 'news' organizations are maybe 10 percent focused on actual news events nowadays anyway, this is a relatively harmless and innocuous way to fill some of that remaining 90 percent. |

Re: Santa tracking on the news
They report stories about such religious nonsense like Jesus on a grilled cheese, this really isn't any different.
|
Re: Santa tracking on the news
to be honest, it's far more useful than what the local news stations report on anyway.

Re: Santa tracking on the news
Yeah, I roll my eyes. But I figure its not meant for cynical old cusses like us, and just ignore the whole thing.
