I thought it was a decent episode, but they're not giving me much reason to stick with the show.

It was entraining enough, though it mostly felt like a totally different show (the direction, action, and writing felt nothing like Human Target). I did like seeing Chance beating the shit out of those cops, however.

And the lack of a femal client is a very bad sign.

Oh come on guys... this ep was okay.

I loved the Guerrero vs. Pucci angle this ep with the money.

Guerrero is such a good character. I love how they insinuate that he is such a tough guy without ever showing him do what we assume he does to them. The biker dude bleeding on the Caddy was classic stuff.

The only thing that I didn't like about this ep is that something that Winston (aka Laverne) waited for 8 years to do was wrapped up very nicely.

Oh, and thumbs up to Roger Bart for playing a good Dead Head. I saw him on Broadway a few years ago in The Producers (where he starred opposite Richard Kind).

Fuck that 'thief' chick who takes up screen time. It takes the life out of the show to no end. I fell asleep during the damn ep. I still love Poochie though.

Richard Kind from Spin City?... ewww

I liked this episode surprisingly. But, with the exception of the Baptiste episode last week, this feels like an entirely different show than Human Target. Now I can see why the studio and network hired Matt Miller to be the head writer/showrunner. It seems to me that the network wanted to make the show more of a caper action/comedy similar to Chuck & Leverage and obviously Miller's background on Chuck got him this gig.

But back to this episode, I thought the humor worked. Roger Bart was fun as the client, even though I still prefer the Hot female client of the week. I thought it was kind of funny when Ilsa issued paychecks to Winston, Chance and Guerrero and then Guerrero bitched about it.

 I also liked the scene when Ames smashed up Guerrero's "El Do" to distract the Cops.

Now that I think about it, I am a little frustrated with the way they handled the opening episode of this season because we are probably not going to get any resolution to the Amy Acker/Katherine Walters storyline that was introduced in last season's finale, which seemed very important to Chance's backstory.

BTW, I just picked up Season 1 on Blu-Ray last week and Man I missed those episodes. Those were really fun to watch even though I have been somewhat entertained by season 2.

I was a bit distracted when I watched this so I'm kind of meh on it. I didn't mind the client and even Poochie's scenes weren't too bad, although her "escape" from the office was kind of clunky. It seemed like a wasted opportunity to either show her doing something cool, or maybe show off some of the prep work the guys have done to the office to make it more "homey" like last season's finale. And I didn't mind Ames either, she slightly made up for no HotW.

My major issue was the whole Winston angle. It felt extremely hollow and contrived. I get that they are trying to put a "personal connection" on each of the cases, but so far every link has been very lame, with the exception of the widow of a Chance hit. The corrupt cops episode last season was much better.

I didn't buy Winston's scenes with either the cop or the ex-wife, and the one were he attacked the client seemed way out of character.

Oops...just a minor correction to my OP. There is actually a new episode next week. A Christmas themed one it looks like.

I actually liked this episode. Nothing great but definitely not bad. The only part in this show which struck me as unusual and came across as unrealistic was when Laverne became upset with the client and tried to get at him only to be held back by the others. Just was not natural for his character IMO......

I am really starting to like Ames. It does not hurt she is easy on the eyes. :)

Coming off one of the best of the season, this was one of the worst.

I like Ames and would rather she was around instead of Ilsa.

Meanwhile, Ilsa drags everything down and there is NO chemistry between her and Chance. Her scene at the bank was miles better than seducing the AF captain, but that gets cancelled out by yet another shock at the tactics. You know, when she was first introduced she was a confident force to be reconed with. Now she's this big doe-eyed naive pawn.

I'm betting our best hope is another 13 episodes for Spring 2012 at this point.

 Pretty pathetic considering there was nothing special to the scene. Congrats to Pucci for not fucking up a mundane scene!

And Pucci remains the incompetent boss whose role is to argue with the people who know what they're doing. I can't imagine why anyone thought adding such a character would be an improvement to this show. Ames was pretty useless, she didn't add anything that one of the guys couldn't have except add eye candy, but at least she didn't detract from the episode. Are annoying and useless character additions like this really supposed to broaden viewer appeal? Maybe if they get another season they can give Chance a toddler to tote around. Just imagine the hilarity and hijinks.

I wish they'd let Janet Montgomery (Ames) keep her British accent, and just break out the American accent when needed because her American accent sounds too artificial to my ear, like almost too much of an affected Jersey accent at times.

I avoided commenting in the previous week's thread, b/c I didn't want to be a constant negative drag to people who were still enjoying the show, but in my opinion they've made the show virtually unwatchable, and I don't care if they cancel it anymore.

I loved season one. It was an extremely entertaining throwback action show. I'm convinced this year's show runners didn't even watch season one. In this episode, they even had Chance's picture on the most wanted poster. Why would Guerrero EVER work for this lady? He wouldn't...that's the point.

It could be that Fox asked for the changes. When you have a "Okay" performer coming back for a second season, the network often sends notes on what changes they think will make it more appealing. Sometimes they do audience testing, -sometimes they just try to imitate what works on other successful shows. In this case they added more women, and gave it more of a "workplace" vibe, -sort of like "NCIS" or "Bones". "The Good Guys" did a similar (though less abrasive) tweak by getting Colin Hanks back together with Jenny Wade and adding Angela Sarafayan as their "Hot Nerd" sidekick.
