Synopsis:

Spoiler:
When Abed (Danny Pudi) wakes up in stop-motion animation, he takes it as a sign that he and the group must re-discover the meaning of Christmas. Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) become growingly concerned about Abed's mental health and enlist the help of Professor Duncan (John Oliver). The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed's winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed's madness.

Episode 11 of 24

I'm looking forward to this episode. I have a feeling that some here will either love it or absolutely hate it.

I think you're right. This could be an episode that splits people down the middle. I'm really looking forward to it though, looks amazing.

Building off of this I have a feeling that some here will like things that are good and some will be morons.

Yay! St. Louis decided to air some local programming at 7, so I don't get to see this episode. I guess I'll have to check the NBC website tomorrow.

This is the second time they've done this to Community this season. I wonder how this affects ratings when things like this happen.

Yeah, imagine my dismay when I tune to the St. Louis NBC affiliate and it's a damn local special on area Christmas lights displays.

I feel like kicking someone at KSDK in the balls!!

The ratings are pretty terrible anyway you dice it, that's incredibly lame. I'd get people to write e-mails or something.

I'm digging this episode though, making Abed flatout insane works just like the Zombie episode with no real explaination.

Re: Community -- "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas" -- 12/09/10

Pierce: "Clearly? Is that Arabic for not clearly? Am I right?"
Troy: "You expect me to tarnish the high five for that."

Abed: "I thought I made you?"
Chang: "Yeah, made me want to cry in the shower tonight."
Chang: Since you started, how about ten more seconds on that third button?"

Duncan: "Oh, what's that up ahead? It's Planet Abed!"
Jeff: "Subtle."

Abed: "You're Troy Soldier."
Troy: "Cool! Do I have a gun?!"
Abed: "No, a drum."
Troy: "Cool, a drum..."

I love when when Abed changed Duncan from a Wizard to a Warlock there was virtually no change.

Troy: "Woah, woah, who taught you therapy? Michael Jackson's dad?!"

The train's controls started at "Aloof" and ended at "Björk" () but what was in between?

Season 1 of LOST on DVD representing the unfulfilled expectations of "The Meaning Of Christmas" was inspired.

I felt bad for Abed there at the end, but it was a nice, sappy Christmas Special ending.

Well done Community, well done.

(On a side note, I've missed the semi-regular appearances of Star-Burns; Dino must be busy with other things at the moment)

I'm sure people will hate on this episode, but damn I thought this was awesome! The "Lost" joke was so unexpected, but well played. This episode will be staying on the dvr for a while.

As much love as I have for Community, I have to put myself on the "hate" side tonight. I might even dislike it more than Abed's film one.

I thought it was a fun episode. Not hysterical, but still very creative.

Nice touch at the very end with the "real" cast reflection in the television set.

I didn't hate that episode. I appreciated the experimental approach it took to a television show, but overall it wasn't that funny. Tonight's was definitely funnier if a little cheesy, but I think that's just in the spirit of Christmas Specials.

He did co-write this episode.

I noticed that as well.

Although I wasn't expecting much, I enjoyed it. Even without knowing everyone's back story, I think that it could be a good stand alone Christmas special by itself...

Goddamn that was awesome.

"Thanks Lost" literally made me laugh out loud.

So many great things here, staring with the insanity of doing the episode like this in the first place. Favorite show on TV, easy.

I thought it was cute and creative, if not especially funny. I do appreciate the intelligence of the show, and its willingness to try something different from time to time.

Was Duncan's wizard outfit the same as Pierce's Buddhist Cookie Crisp outfit from last season?

I thought the same. I love the show but didn't think this episode was as funny as most, but thought it was really cool that they did something so different. It was really well executed, and this is really the only show I could ever imagine trying something like this.

It's a bummer to not see Annie and Britta in the flesh.

I liked it though, creative stuff. Episodes like these really stretch the boundaries of the half hour comedy.

Jeff's eye roll in Duncan's office when he was talking about his years of experience was fantastic.
