Synopsis:

Spoiler:
It's Luke & Manny's first school dance and everyone gets in on the "fun" -- Jay and Phil have to take the boys on a mall run which becomes quite stressful; and Claire revels in the school dance committee duties, but gets a little jealous when Gloria shows up to help. Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam are horrified to learn that Lily is biting other kids on the playground.

Last episode of the year. Returns in January.

"It's like Twilight back here!"

So many lines before the first commercial break; this show is great!

What an awesome episode to go out on before the hiatus. So many funny lines, some great cameos, and lots of funny visual gags.

Cam: "It's like Twilight back here!"

Mitch "If she starts biting her play dates she'll become a pariah."
Cam: "Try piranha."
Mitch: "Really?"
Cam: "It was right there."

Cam: "I have a baby that bites and a partner that stings."

Manny: "At this rate, I'm going to miss the first dance...at my wedding!"

Phil's freakout with "Oasis for men" rotfl

Jay: "If I said something was white, he said it was black. Although he never said anyone was black...he was a pretty big racist."

I love how Artemis said to Gloria, "I don't know if anyone's ever told you this before, but you are very pretty."

Cam: "I'm not going to hire a hobo to come over here and traumatize over child. She's already prone to flashbacks!."
Mitch: "You know she didn't fight in Vietnam, right?"
Cam: "I don't know anything anymore!"

Danny Trejo with the paper towels, walking right passed Claire

Claire stuffing her bra, haha.

Phil: "Or you can just pay it forward. They don't make movies out of bad ideas".

Hilarious episode. Everybody had a great storyline tonight.

I love the throwaway line of a little girl pulling a Britney Spears as she arrived to the playground.

"What'd you do to that guy? *grit* Did you get him?"
"Yeah, I sprayed him with cologne."
"I'm sorry I asked."
"No, like a LOT of cologne. I just like 'grrr' got way up in there."
"Good boy."
(The facial expressions made that tiny scene.)

Cam's song: "People aren't food, people aren't food, your friends'll run away if they're scared of being chewed.
And as a side note, private parts are private."

I know she was wearing heels, but Sofia Vergara looked so tall. I didn't know she was that tall. And Danny Trejo, I thought he was taller.

Great episode.

I liked the last little joke about the cologne guy being friends with Cam and Mitch and how traumatized he was from Phil.

Only part I didn't care for was when Jay confronted the guy who stole their parking spot. Just didn't work for me, but no big. Very solid episode...

I thought there was going to be more with that person (possibly with Jay catching the guy in a lie at the end of the episode), but I guess not.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but the only thing I don't like about the show is how wholesome it is. Not that they won't make some risqué jokes here and there, but the amount of lesson learning at the end of every episode is a bit of a turn off for me. You can see the apologies and makeups coming a mile away, and you can almost hear the 'special moment' music in the background.

I guess that's just part of the family sitcom package... anyway, it's still one of the most consistently well-written shows on TV.

Call me old-fashioned, but it's refreshing to see a show with such a positive message. I'd rather see a great show about a loving family over "reality" trash behaving like the most horrible people possible.

Phil's at it again!

Phil - "Guess who fit into the suit on the mannequin and saved us 20%?"
Luke - "Here's something I didn't know about mannequins; they don't have a wiener."
Manny - "What's that?"
Phil - "A nicer word for penis."

"I LOOOOVE Jay. Are you kidding me? He's my boy. Yeah, he gives me a hard time, but that's the deal with a father-in-law. The key is, I never let him see JUST how much it devastates me."

Just a few years ago, a show with a homosexual couple, a may-december couple and a couple where the bride was pregnant when they got married (Phil and Claire) would not be considered wholesome.

Yes, we have come a long way. I was especially surprised to see Modern Family in the list of shows that Republicans prefer.
