Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Elena (Nina Dobrev) decides to take matters into her own hands and offers a tempting incentive to Rose (guest star Lauren Cohan) for her help. When things take an unexpected turn, however, Rose calls on Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to deal with the plan Elena has set in motion. Jeremy's (Steven R. McQueen) reckless attempt to help Bonnie (Katerina Graham) retrieve the moonstone lands him in a life-threatening position and forces Stefan (Paul Wesley) to put himself in danger. Bonnie and Luka (guest star Bryton James) form a closer connection. Tyler (Michael Trevino) shows Caroline (Candice Accola) the Lockwood cellar, where she makes a discovery that leaves them both terrified.

Is this like a mid-season finale? 12 more doesn't seem like a lot to take us from January to May.

There is 1 more new episode (next week 12/9) before they go into repeats until the new year.

1st episode in a long while that was a big fat "meh" for me.

I thought it was a really good episode - zipped along in typical Vampire Diaries fashion. The scene where Tyler found out how horrific his "turning" would be was well done. Caroline has become a great character on this show.

It'll be interesting to see what Elijah's endgame is, and how the warlocks fit into the grand scheme.

well I guess being able to knock a person's head off was not enough of a clue that "this guy is a bad ass" so they threw in some casual heart punching out too.. -eek-

Yeah I also thought this was a really good episode. Very creative way to bring Uncle Mason back on the show. Thought the video and the reactions from Tyler and Caroline was great. Ever since Caroline turned earlier this season, she's become a really compelling character. Major Props to Candace Accola and the writers.

 at Rose for running like a scared little girl after seeing Elijah come back.

 Bonnie frustrates me. She's a tease to Jeremy and that other witch, uses the other witch for that spell and fails and then rejects Jeremy's advances. I am curious to see what the father and son witches are getting (or at least the father) working with Elijah.

I hope this isnt the last we see of Rose. I was probably one of the few that liked her char on Supernatural a few years ago.

My CW affiliate only plays it (and all other programming) in SD and cropped (4:3).

I may think Bonnie is horrible on this show and a bad actress in general but she's starting to make things stir in my pants.

Still loving the direction they're taking with Caroline. It's amazing how they turned around here complete bore of a character.

Catching up on missed TV.

This wasn't great, but it was good and better than a lot of stuff out there.

Now we seem to know for sure that the young warlock is in on it with his father (I presume that's their relationship). I was hoping he's end up being surprised somehow and join Stephan & Co.

I hope somebody new is introduced soon for Jeremy. Not only have I never liked Bonnie, but there is no chemistry between the two actors either so that's not helping me feel too sorry for him when she rejects his advances. Clearly - or not since this show is good with surprises - you'd think she'll find out the truth about warlock to run to Jeremy's open arms. Plus he goes in there to get the stone only to get no respect - it was only a half dumb plan.

Why couldn't Katherine take the ring off? I mean she cut it off Uncle John no problem.
