I know Family Guy has used this title before, but since this is more of a family show its making me laugh.

happy birthday sarah hyland
Sarah Hyland turns 20 today. She's not a teenager anymore, so it really is okay what you're thinking.

There's already more funny in the opening segment here than many other shows altogether.
I can't stand how awesome this show is.

Mitchell's face for the picture was incredible.
(He might have been the best part of this episode. The uncomfortable expressions; "Force field, force field!")

Phil at the end:
(Walking, oblivious, phone to mouth, sweater in trash. Fantastic!)

Is it just me, or did this episode feel sorta off? I thought Mitchell (for a change) and Phil were the highlights of the episode. Mitchell played the uncomfortableness perfectly. I loved Phil at the end, throwing away the sweater.
The story with Jay, Gloria, and Manny felt very incomplete. I did think it was funny that it ended up being something serious, but that was to be expected. It was funny seeing Gloria pop her shoulder back into the socket though. Still, not the best storyline and I sort of wish they had just dropped it entirely and focused instead on better developing the other two.
Anyone else think it's odd they didn't do a Thanksgiving episode?

I just realized that after Jay went into surgery they just forgot about his storyline. Doesn't seem like they will continue that into the next episode, so I find it odd that they didn't at least include a post-surgery scene with him.

I thought this episode was kind of weak, but still better than any other sitcom currently on the air.

It wasn't a good episode but still had plenty of laughs, I thought it was better than the Earthquake episode earlier this season.
Unsurprisingly, this episode was written by the same duo that did Earthquake.

I think the problem with this episode was the families didn't really interact with each other. All I really remember was one scene with Claire and Mitchell.

Modern and Community are about as consistant and funny to me. The League has a few too many misses to be in the same league but it's still one of the funniest shows on TV.

Also Manny brought it when he was the doctor taking a call on the golf (putt-putt) course telling the next group to play through.

I personally enjoy The League more but Modern Family is quite good. They fit in a lot of subtle jokes and sight gags every week without going too over the top.

So Sofia Vergara grew up down the road from Shakira and is married to one of Shakira's cousins.
