I love this show. Easily my favourite new comedy, and probably favourite new show of the season, followed closely by Terriers.

This episode was non-stop laughs. I originally had a bunch of stuff typed out, but to save some space I'll limit it to a few of my favourite moments.

I liked that they addressed how It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia had a character with a dead tooth a few days before the Raising Hope episode with the babysitter aired. Awesome.

Hope eating cereal out of a dog bowl with her name on it and then barking every time the doorbell rang. And then her chewing on a bone, fetching Burt's slippers, and growling.

Burt going door to door had me dying:
"I offer lawn care...Oh and I'm a sex offender."
"Good news, I'm not a Jehovah's Witness. But I am a sexual predator."
"I just wanted to let you know there's a sexual predator in the neighborhood. *cough* It's me. *cough*"
"I borrowed your staple gun eight years ago. I'm also a sexual predator."

Burt getting removed from the sex offender registry and then Maw Maw, Virginia, and Jimmy all being put on it, haha.

I loved when Sabrina was yelling everything to show Jimmy just how misplaced all the exclamation points were.

Jimmy: "We're the Chances and we're all sex offenders living in your neighborhood."
Burt: "Except for me, I'm clean."

This show is too freakin' funny. Burt going around to his neighbors had me rotfl.

And hooray for a re-run of Raising Hope in place of Running Wilde!

I dunno why, but they're airing a repeat of Raising Hope instead of Running Wilde. Which is fine by me. I've seen the repeat of Raising Hope twice before, but am still getting more laughs out of it than I would've been from a new Running Wilde episode.

Either way, it's probably good news for Raising Hope, which already has a full season order, and bad news for Running Wilde, which is probably going to be canceled by the end of its 13th episode, if they even air them all.

Really starting to like this show. Great episode.

I particularly liked Burt's response when they realized he was the sex offender.

This episode was really funny and loved the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia reference to the dead tooth. I like that Shelley is a recurring character.

Loved the reference to the Sunny episode with the girl who had the dead tooth.

Burt's scenes were great, I liked the one at the court house with the kids on the field trip.

Me too - her first deadtooth appearance was right on the heels of that storyline on It's Always Sunny (literally like a week later), so seeing that they wrote it in was brilliant.

whole ep was great.. This show was one I almost skipped when it first started to air but it's slowly become one of my new favs.. It's just sort of quirky fun..

the line about being his grandma and "it's going to get kind of dirty" was great too but as mentioned a few post above the door to door warning stuff was the best.. it's just hard to beat the whole "I just wanted to let you know there's a sexual predator in the neighborhood. *cough* It's me. *cough*" lol

Loved the "I fixed the tooth because of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"

Funny episode all around, this is easily the best new comedy of the season.

I almost skipped the show too. I read a review of the pilot that was very negative and I thought Greg Garcia would flop with this. I watched the pilot and loved it right away. Out of all the new sitcoms this fall I think Raising Hope is the best one. On Sunday when I was watching football on CBS I saw a bunch of promos of CBS saying Mike and Molly is the best new sitcom I had to laugh at that. I have watched a few episode and I wanted to like the show I liked Melissa McCarthy on Gilmore Girls but the show isn't funny at all.

I think Garret Dillahunt and Martha Plimpton are Emmy worthy but I can see them being snubbed for nominations.

Re: Raising Hope -- "Blue Dots" -- 11/16/10

I dunno, Malcolm in the Middle constantly pulled Emmy noms for Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston (funny that he didn't win one, then won 3 in a row for Breaking Bad... Kaczmarek was nominated 7 years in a row for the show and didn't win once). Cloris Leachman won 2 emmys for guest spots on that show.

Count me in for loving this show. It's pretty clever and has me laughing a few times each episode. Love the whole sleep eating sleep exercising scene.

Probably been asked and answered in previous threads, but I thought that the cousin would be a regular or at least recurring role. I don't think that he's been on since. What happened to him?

Re: Raising Hope -- "Blue Dots" -- 11/16/10

They probably figured it was one too many characters and scaled back. His character joined a cult, nto sure about the actor.

Olesya Rulin was originally cast as Sabrina and was later replaced by Shannon Woodward

I'm guessing they decided to drop the character after they shot the pilot. A lot of shows will change major elements after they shoot the pilot. In many cases, they will reshoot the pilot with any changes. Seems like they just didn't reshoot the pilot for some reason. I know the cousin was part of Burt's business, but since then I think they've mentioned that it's only a two man company. Did the cousin live with them at the house too?

I guess he falls into the category of Chuck from Happy Days.

Yeah, the cousin lived in a tent in the laundry room.

Re: Raising Hope -- "Blue Dots" -- 11/16/10

I did some more research it looks like they did reshoot the pilot. But the cousin, Mike, was a female in the original pilot:

Kate Micucci and Olesya Rulin played Mike and Sabrina, respectively, in the original pilot which was reshot with Skyler Stone and Shannon Marie Woodward in the aforementioned roles. And yes, Mike was conceived as male, cast as female then recast as male.
