Yep. While watching this episode I was thinking "I could really take or leave this show" and considered dropping it. Now I have to at least watch next week just to find out what that last WTF scene was all about.

I actually wasn't all that surprised by this scene. I still think these are earthlings from the future who want to get back to their time. I believe this is where the experiments to change their DNA started, to give them longer life. I don't know why they came back--maybe to stop it from happening, maybe to do something else, but this is where it started. I'm guessing either they can't die and they want to stop themselves from discovering eternal life because they want to be able to "rest," or something's gone wrong and they need to travel through time to correct it...like that old sci-fi show where beings from the future had to travel to the past to get mates because they could no longer reproduce themselves.

That final scene was indeed a huge WTF moment.
I know most people here probably won't care about it as it didn't really seem to tie into the arc of the show, but I enjoyed the back story with Blake and his Russian spy wife.
You could tell this episode had some 24 influence since Evan Katz co-wrote it. Alot of computer techno babble in Sean's dialogue and that mysterious dude they met who deciphered the manual. I had to laugh when the term "Trunk Line" was used since that was so prominently used in 24.
I liked the scene where they showed step by step how Murphy was framed by Thomas.
I still don't really have any clue who Hal Holbrook's mystery man is supposed to be.
I miss Taylor Cole already.

I don't see how the frame job will hold up. Good for a short term but once they look into it, it should be easy to see he wasn't the traitor.

I'm very disappointed by this episode. After watching 24 all those years, I think that all stories with moles taking forever to uncover is just redundant. They had the guy, and now Thomas switched the DNA sample AND someone planted prints?

As for the head-scratching moments and little plotholes, I really don't care. This will be a one season show, and I'll just enjoy the ride while it lasts. The overall story is really interesting, and I like the pace and action of the show.

I actually enjoyed that part also......the rest of the episode was pretty lame besides the ending which is the only part that makes me want to see next week.

It was difficult to rewind 14 years for Blake's story, though it turned out decent. Meh episode overall, but was creeped out by the final moments.

Ugh. It's gets more and more stupid. It's like someone took all the worst parts of 24 and mixed them with some weak sci-fi.
I was ready to drop the show completely until the ending. Dammit!
One more mention of 'trunk line' or 'opening a socket' and I'm definitely out.

Really enjoyed this episode, but kept thinking the whole episode "I hope the guys criticizing Walking Dead are not watching this...".

Wait, did the President just pour part of a partially drank beer into a glass for Blake? Was the White House really out of beer?

He didn't. When talking to Holbrook, he mentions that he's in FBI custody, and that "the lawyer your people sent" said the cell phone he's using is clean.
Regarding JuryDuty's theory, I very much doubt that they are future Earthlings, mainly because of the discussion between Sophia and Thomas about the "lack of raw materials" on Earth, and their inability to move things more than a few thousand miles as a result. Note that they are talking about distance, not time.

They are talking about distance, but that doesn't mean they aren't talking about a time-line.
As far as the talk about raw materials, I thought they were talking about the materials that could be made via nuclear fission and that science was not far advanced to making the "raw materials" needed.
I do think they are future humans because of the hints they've given in that they know of our people's various languages, English and Chinese?, and forms of technology, but not about the history.

I've also noticed that the writers are being very coy with specific details. The people who are claiming they're aliens seem to assuming that that's the case.
What's interesting is just how easily they are able to fool the government, particularly with Simon. With our current knowledge of science and history, it probably wouldn't be terribly difficult for a knowledgeable person from our time to infiltrate the Lincoln White House. (Providing, of course, we could time travel back 150 years.)
