In before all the "that wasn't the greatest episode ever, so therefore, it sucked" posts.

That clip cracked me up. "Why can't it be Mosquito and Friends?"

Very good ep, loved all the Butters parts and The Coon's indignation at everything. The end came suddenly, it sure didn't feel like a half hour.

Loved it! Coon beating the crap out of Mosquito and Cartman getting dragged upstairs by his mom was pretty funny.

"We no longer fuck the earth, we DP it!"

Seeing Shamu and Tom Cruise on the moon, the "were sorry" clips, the Brett Favre reference, the dramatic slow-mo walk, butters as courtney love and the ketchup packets during the "fight scene" were awesome!

So is this another 2-part episode??

I agree I felt it ended suddenly. It was good episode and Butters in the makeshift holding cell was hilarious.

Re: South Park -- "Coon 2: Hindsight" -- 10/27/10

Captain Hindsight fell kind of flat, but it was overall good.

"DP"... and the new logo

the whole "poop bucket" scene

BP's constant apologies

Cthulhu

A Clockwork Orange reference

So... who was Mysterion? Kenny?

Re: South Park -- "Coon 2: Hindsight" -- 10/27/10

So who were all the kids in Coon and Friends?

Kyle
Kenny
Stan
Token
Timmy

Who am I forgetting? Obviously Mysterion isn't Timmy, Token, Stan or Kyle. Who does that leave?

Thought it was funny. Next week it will be three weeks in a row that the show will be airing episodes Chris Nolan related. Matt and Trey seem to have a man crush.

The Coon = Cartman
Toolbox = Stan
Tupperware = Token
Iron Maiden = Timmy
Mosquito = Clyde?
Mintberry Crunch = ???
Mysterion = Kenny?
Kite = Kyle (a pun on a certain slur?)

Re: South Park -- "Coon 2: Hindsight" -- 10/27/10

Mintberry Crunch's hair looks like Bradley...

Revised list:

The Coon = Cartman
Toolshed = Stan
Tupperware = Token
Iron Maiden = Timmy
Mosquito = Clyde
Mintberry Crunch = Bradley
Mysterion = Kenny
Human Kite = Kyle

That list might be right.

Re: South Park -- "Coon 2: Hindsight" -- 10/27/10

I think this is the correct list, except I don't know who Human Kite was...

The Coon = Cartman
Toolshed = Stan
Tupperware = Token
Iron Maiden = Timmy
Mosquito = Kyle
Mintberry Crunch = Kenny
Mysterion = Clyde
Human Kite = ???

I'm pretty sure Kyle was Mosquito. Their voices sounded a lot alike and having him as a Mosquito could be a joke about the stereotypical Jew having a big nose. Not to mention he is one of the ones Cartman beats up and it seems more likely Cartman would want to beat up Kyle than anyone else in the group.

Based on the first Coon/Mysterion episode, I'd say Mysterion is Clyde. We know Mysterion isn't Stan (he's explicitly Toolshed) or Kyle (Mysterion talked to Kyle in the first episode), and I doubt it's Kenny because in this episode Mysterion was drinking a milkshake (no way Kenny could afford a milkshake) and the costume looks too expensive for Kenny as well.

And I think it makes sense for Kenny to be Mintberry Crunch. It's the lamest, cheapest of all the costumes' the face is partially obscured which is keeping with not showing Kenny's face; and Kenny has blond hair.

That just leaves Human Kite as unknown, but if I watch the episode again might figure it out.

Assuming it's a continuation of this episode. But then I don't really see much of a Nolan connection in this episode. The first Coon episode did, but this one didn't really carry any of his style.

Cartman standing in his windowsill hunched over like Batman; Mysterions deep, raspy voice; and the entire premise of "the Coons" goal. "To protect the streets of South Park" which happens to all take place at night.

The Coon is a spoof of Rorschach from Watchmen. The standing hunched over in a windowsill, the diary-like narrations, the sometimes less-than-heroic portrayal.

Mysterion is a spoof of Batman from The Dark Knight. The raspy voice, the noble intentions, turning himself over to the police to be unmasked.
