Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Despite Elena's (Nina Dobrev) efforts to keep Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) safe, he offers to help Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) deal with Katherine (Nina Dobrev). Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Caroline (Candice Accola) share a few rare moments of quality mother/daughter time. Bonnie (Katerina Graham) accidentally discovers new information about Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney) and shares it with Stefan (Paul Wesley), leading Damon to take matters into his own hands.

Episode 6 of 22

Show of hands, who thinks Caroline has become a much more compelling character now that she's a vampire?

I'm curious to see where they are going with Katherine obviously using Mason.

Totally. I couldn't stand her before. Now they just need to kill off Bonnie.

this show continues to surprise me with whom they are willing to kill off... other than the core three characters, I really feel like everyone else is potential mincemeat.

I love how casual Damon is about killing people. RIP, Mason.

Loved this episode. Katherine does seem to have Plans B, C and so on. I wasn't expecting Jenna stabbing herself. I also liked the whole scene of retrieving the Moonstone from the well. Caroline has become one of the best characters on the show.

Damn, this show continues to bring the A game week after week!

Jenna trying off herself, Damon ripping out Mason's heart (too bad; while a prick, he was still a pretty good character), then of course the reveal at the end with Matt. Crazy stuff!!

I'll also raise a hand to Caroline being much more interesting since she was killed. Matt is much more tolerable this season, as is wolfy in waiting.

The only real issue left is Bonnie. I don't even miss her when she's not in episodes. Maybe they'll introduce a new witch at some point.

I hope Jeremy starts training with Alaric to become a badass.
