Ming Tsai is on this? They really have a guy who use to have a show on the Food Network competing in this?

I'm surprised he came back after getting the shaft by FN. I hope he wins.

Eps over, post updated... not surprised with who they eliminated.

I'd hate to have to cook on the beach.

Re: "The Next Iron Chef" Discussion Thread (Season 3; Begins 10/03/10)

Oh, and a little fact... of all 10 contestants, only 3 have actually been in Kitchen Stadium as a contestant on Iron Chef America:
  • Ming Tsai defeated IC Bobby Flay in Battle: Duck (Season 1, Episode 6; Score 48-43)
  • IC Cat Cora defeated Mary Dumont in Battle: Milk & Cream (Season 5, Episode 8; Score 51-46)
  • IC Masaharu Morimoto defeated Maneet Chauhan in Battle: Leeks (Season 8, Episode 10; Score 56-40)

... and none of them have appeared on Chopped.

Definitely rooting for Simply Ming. He already has the rest of the field in awe. Estes came off as an asshole. Too bad that she didn't get the early exit, but at least Alton tore her a new one.

I was shocked to see Ming Tsai there just because having an already known celeb chef in the competition was something I never expected.

So long, chef whose name I don't remember.

There wasn't any tension in the elimination. No way were they sending Ming Tsai home this early.

Pagan knew he was toast when they said Dumont was safe.

Tsai will be this season's Besh. He'll go all the way, but job to the winner to give him/her a confidence boost.

Are they really going to do the self judging thing the whole season? Seems like such a cop out for the show.

Same, except for Chahaun. I don't find nose piercing a good look for a chef.

Tsai isn't running away this thing after all, at least not yet. It does make sense to have a sort-of-celebrity chef in this competition compared to Top Chef or Next Food Network Star.

Chef Estes. I'll always think of you as the love child of Lori Petty and Michael Berryman.

Chef Canora's Fair Food looked delicious. I'm surprised he didn't win the challenge.

The pack is dividing... and I thought that Tsai would be on the high side of it all.

Kudos to Tio for stepping up this week.
