Synopsis:

Spoiler:
After completing employee evaluations, Todd receives orders to fire someone on his staff. Reluctant to follow through, Todd comes up with a strategy to save his employee's job.

The outrage and hate that most of you expressed last week was hilarious. I didn't think it was that horrible, but I can see why it would piss off/frustrate alot of you.

I thought the pilot was awful, but I'll give it a second chance.

I expect if you keep creating weekly threads for this show that outrage and hate will spill over onto you.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but...I actually sort of enjoyed tonight's episode. It wasn't great, and maybe it looked even better because the pilot was so awful, but it was actually pretty watchable.

I felt they focused more on telling a story and developing the characters than shoehorning in every last stereotype and sitcom cliche they could.

I do love Asha though. I'll be back next week.

I came here to post the same thing. I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't outraged by the pilot like a lot of people, I just didn't think it was that funny. The second ep was a lot better. Still, it seems like kind of a limited premise for a weekly show, but I'll keep watching for a while.

Agreed with you two. Absolutely HATED the pilot, but enjoyed this one.

Too bad, as it's prolly already too late for this show, it appears most have already jumped ship. They shouldn't have effed up the opener so terribly.

I thought this was even worse than the pilot. Ooh, Indian food is sooo gross.

Well, there's still more on the ship than Community and 30 Rock. The ratings dropped a bit in week 2, but they're still doing pretty well, especially considering it's up against Grey's and CSI.

The second episode was much better than the first.

Re: Outsourced -- "The Measure of a Manmeet" -- 09/30/10

This was okay at best. Thought the plot about Manmeet nearly getting fired for flirting too much & not making enough sales was kind of dumb. Also, I wasn't happy when Todd referred to Indian food as green goop or red goop.

Yeah, that bothered me, too. Most Indian food is actually brown goop.

(But I kid. I actually really like Indian food.)

Eh, this one wasn't so bad. I didn't really mind the pilot as much as some here either. Overall, I don't think this show is looking really any better or worse than other NBC Thursday night sitcom misfires over the years like The Single Guy, Boston Common, Jesse, Good Morning, Miami, Union Square, etc. None of which were quite as all-out abysmal as they seemed at the time, but suffered from being surrounded by (or replacing) much better, iconic NBC Thursday night sitcoms.

They've got to stop bashing Indian food on this show, it's just embarrassing. The main lead is pretty boring too. I can't even remember what he looks like if he's not onscreen. I want to like this show, but so far it's not clicking for me. With that said, I think it's still salvageable so I won't give up just yet.

I gave the show another go but that's it. Just not funny at all with annoying stereotypes for characters

Re: Outsourced -- "The Measure of a Manmeet" -- 09/30/10

What's gonna happen is NBC will eventually cancel this show due to low ratings and these Indian actors won't get any acting jobs hardly at all. Same thing happened to Margaret Cho's sitcom.

It's not a pleasant thought, but it'll likely happen. This is not a show that Middle America goes for.

Do you travel?

If you travel, especially going to a country you've never been too before, there is a very good possibility that certain foods can and will have a bad effect on your digestive system. Spicy foods can do that even if you're used to them.

There's a reason they tell you not to drink the water in Mexico. It's not making fun of anything, its accepting the fact that your stomach may not be ready.

As for episode 2, that was an attack on veggie burgers, which no matter what country they come from, still suck.

I don't see that concept at play at all. Just like all the other stale jokes in this show, they are showing how anything that's ethnic and weird looking is gross and will make you poop. And yes I do travel and eat ethnic food all the time. Do you? The bacteria that makes foreigners sick in water is killed with heat. So cooked foods is not a problem unless you have a reaction to certain spices, but that's on an individual basis. So that is not the point they are trying to make in this show.

On top of that, all three of the Americans characters are shown guzzling down or craving meat. So at lest some of the stereotypes go both ways.

Part of me hopes that they are starting out with all of these stereotypes only to show how the main character will evolve over time. Unfortunately, I think they are just going for cheap humor.

I actually like the Indian cast but the lead guy is a cipher. I will still watch it and hope it gets better.

Not at all, really. Some good ones can be found.
