Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Jeff reconnects with his former law-firm colleagues (Rob Corddry, Drew Carey) and returns to some old vices. Seeing the changes in Jeff, the study group decide to come to his rescue, only to find themselves corrupted in the process.

Good debut last week. Looking forward to this.

And just because, here's Annie and Britta

Next week, can we double up on the Annie?

Really looking forward to this one. In a very crowded and mostly good comedy night, this is the show I am looking forward to most based on blurb comparison.

Re: Community -- "Accounting for Lawyers" -- 09/30/10

I love the title of this episode. I took an actual law class called "Financial Accounting for Lawyers," granted it seems the episode's about accountability, but still sort of a funny coincidence.

---

Troy: "Did you know that Go-gurt is really just yogurt?"

Annie chloroforming the janitor was awesome. Their whole freakout was great. Troy running around, flailing his arms - someone needs to make a .gif of that STAT. And then Abed's plan totally backfiring and Annie chloroforming the janitor again. What a fantastic scene.

I loved Chang's motivation for continuing his dancing, lol. Britta saying "Who cares, let's just quit" and then Troy saying "Well...the deal was if he won..." killed me.

And the Abed/Troy ending was great. They could have gone the easy route and had Troy run full speed into the wall, but what they did was so much funnier.

I was expecting the cliche run into the wall, but glad they didnt do it!

Overall another solid episode. Adding Cordry made this episode even better!

First episode of this show in a while that I was just kind of 'meh' about. Much like "The Office" episodes outside of the office being weaker, it may be that episodes of this show set outside the college don't work as well.

And older, skinnier Drew Carey is just weird looking.

Totally. He was much funnier back in the day, when he was chubbier.

The chloroform scenes were the best. A detective agency of Troy, Annie and Abed would be a great spinoff

No kidding, we were taking bets as to whether that was really him.

This.

Also that hole in Drew Carey's hand was just freaky. Is that a reference to something? Just seemed totally random.

Great episode though.

Don't forget the whole lead-up to that scene, with Troy and Abed (Kanye and Kumar) staring at Annie's chest.

Troy: "All I heard was suck"

Great episode.

I didn't make this, but just happened upon it tonight here. There's a ton of other .gifs from tonight's episode - someone must have a lot of time on their hands.

The cartoon tunnel had a cartoon Abed off in the distance. The real Abed was hiding behind a trash can. When Troy walked by, Abed started talking to him, telling him how it worked and he was a cartoon and there were talking animals. Troy resisted at first, then Abed said it was all real and Troy just had to believe. Troy got a real serious look on his face, said that he believed and reared back to go running at the tunnel. Right before he took off Abed popped up from behind the trash can and said no, don't believe, it's not real. Troy looked like a little something inside of him died, and Abed acknowledged that he might have really messed Troy up with the joke.

I was thinking of something that happened a little earlier as far as gifs that need to be made.

I think this is the first episode that ever took place off campus, isn't it? It did seem weird (as did skinny Drew Carey).

Another bit that seemed weird to me was Annie's reaction to the German culture stuff. My wife is Jewish so I'm hardly anti-semetic, but didn't it seem like her reaction was a bit inappropriate? Do people automatically associate German culture with Naziism? I guess it just seemed way over-sensitive to me. Does Annie get offended when someone plays Bach or eats sauerkraut? And this is the second time I've felt this way. The Christmas episode from last year had that running bit where Annie was getting mad because people were calling her a Jew, which in my understanding (as well as the feelings of my wife's family) is a totally appropriate term and isn't considered a slur of any kind.

I don't mean to start any sort of cultural/political debate in a thread devoted to a silly tv show. This bit just really jumped out at me and took me out of the episode. It seems odd that a show which mocks PC the way it does seems so defensive towards this one particular issue. Or maybe I'm crazy and I should just shut up.

Annie's boobs were prominently featured in this episode, I approve.

You're committing the sin of expecting a sitcom character to reflect reality.

Annie is clearly a caricature, and it is pretty likely that the way she feels about her ethnicity/religion is reflective of the way somebody one of the writers knows feels about the topic. I don't think it's outside all bounds of reality for somebody to dislike Germany and be uptight about being singled out as a Jew. It's probably not common, but it fits right in with a lot of the other uptight behaviors of Annie's character.

I thought this episode was ok. Annie chlorforming the janitor was hilarious. I could actually see Alison Brie playing a serial killer.
