I thought this was a fun episode and there were a lot of wonderful moments. The scene were they zoom into Chang's eye to show his motivation was great.
The only thing I didn't like was the arc with Jeff completely rejecting the group only to get back in their good graces by the end. It was a little to "TV" for a show that's hyper-aware of all those sitcom formulas. They basically just pushed the "reset" button at the end and everything went back to normal. It's only a minor problem as long as it doesn't happen too often.
Also, the cartoon scene during the credits was amazing! It's my favorite one so far.

I think this is the first episode that ever took place off campus, isn't it? It did seem weird (as did skinny Drew Carey).
Another bit that seemed weird to me was Annie's reaction to the German culture stuff. My wife is Jewish so I'm hardly anti-semetic, but didn't it seem like her reaction was a bit inappropriate? Do people automatically associate German culture with Naziism? I guess it just seemed way over-sensitive to me. Does Annie get offended when someone plays Bach or eats sauerkraut? And this is the second time I've felt this way. The Christmas episode from last year had that running bit where Annie was getting mad because people were calling her a Jew, which in my understanding (as well as the feelings of my wife's family) is a totally appropriate term and isn't considered a slur of any kind.
I don't mean to start any sort of cultural/political debate in a thread devoted to a silly tv show. This bit just really jumped out at me and took me out of the episode. It seems odd that a show which mocks PC the way it does seems so defensive towards this one particular issue. Or maybe I'm crazy and I should just shut up.

Great episode, loved Annie. That is all

I like that the episode was mostly off-campus. I like a change of scenery once in a while - as long as it's not a cliche vacation episode.
One thing that kind of irritates me is the show seems to usually end with a syrupy ending. And usually the end is based around a character coming back to the group after some type of argument/conflict - and it's usually Jeff. That's getting tired.

I also agree with you on the syrupy endings they are getting tiring.

I've been listening to the commentaries on the season 1 DVDs and they mention that it was a conscious decision to keep season 1 all on campus- but that they were going to loosen that restriction with season 2. So expect to see more episodes with scenes off campus.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but that was hands down the funniest episode of Community. Lots of laugh out loud moments: Chang struggling to stay in the pop-and-lock contest, the ending with Troy and Abed, all of them faking having been chloraform-ed. Frikkin hilarious.

Donald Glover is so awesome. I loved right before it too when he's like...
And he just stands there in silence, saying it again every so often, followed by even more silence.
I love that site with all the .gifs, so great.
