Detroit 187 -- "Local Hero/Overboard" -- 09/28/10

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Stone is paired with Sanchez on the investigation into the murder of a promising football player, which doesn't sit well with Fitch; Longford and Mahajan look into the disappearance of a groom during a wedding reception on a party boat. Elsewhere, Mason asks Fitch to speak at a press conference to help quell the public-relations fallout from an incident inside the precinct.

Pleasantly surprised with this last week. I know there is so many damn cop/law shows on, but this felt like the Detroit version of NYPD Blue and I dig the cast.

Everyone give up on this show already? I still have to watch the first one.

I actually liked it MORE than the pilot. Imperioli carries the show well, and they've made his character interesting and not cliched. Both cases were good too--the one where the guy killed the wrong man and the one where, actually, nobody did it. Hope this one sticks around.

Yeah, there's nothing ground breaking about it, but it holds my attention. I really like Imperioli's character.

Didnt they imply that they killed off Imperioli's partner in the Pilot?

Yeah, Imperiolli's character (Fitch) could keep me watching this despite everything else. I love how awkward he was with his partner and the wife at the end there.

What happened to the veteran cops wife? Did we find out that she died in the last episode or something, or is he just trying to figure out if he wants to retire or not?

I think she did die and he is wanting to move to Italy because that was her wish when he retired.

I didn't like this one quite as much as the first. Imperioli is definitely the best part of the show.

I like the show...nothing great but not bad. I will continue watching for a few more episodes and see how it goes.

I liked it, even though the cases didn't grab me like in the first episode. Second show in a row that someone promised the victim's family that they would solve the murder, a little humorous given Detroit's 70% unsolved murder rate.

I was expecting one of those trite cliche speeches from Imperiloi about how you never promise anything, so it was nice to be spared that.

Or you could man up a a little
