Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Rush devises a risky plan to use radiation from the binary pulsar to force the Lucian Alliance to cede control of Destiny. Meanwhile, a critically injured lieutenant Johansen dreams of a rustic life with her baby in the Season 2 opener.

20 episode 2nd season. 10 will air this fall and the back 10 will air in the spring.

If you don't remember what happened in the season finale:

1) Kiva and Telford shot each other
2) That whore Chloe got shot and is in hiding with Eli
3) A very pregnant TJ got shot during an argument in the exam room
4) Scott & Greer are racing against time to get back inside the ship before gamma rays disintergrate them.
5) Eli was last seen running his ass off to open the hatch
6) Young and a bunch of crew members are about to be executed by the Lucian alliance
7) And Rush is still a dick

Love this show because every character is unlikeable in some way

Any reason it has changed days ? is this good/bad for the show ?

Because the ratings weren't that good on Friday's and this is SyFy's most expensive scripted show. So they don't want to waste it that day. Wrestling and Sanctuary will be on Friday's. SGU and Caprica will be on Tuesday...Caprica returns next week.

I thought Scott and Greer (recently saw him in a guest spot on Bones S3 episode) were running to get back before the next wave of black hole or supernova (or something spacey) hit the ship again? That's what caused that one guy to disentegrate through the crack in the ship despite the forcefield in place.

Looking forward to having this one back. I hope they can build on the momentum of last season and keep developing the characters.

The gamma rays from the pulsar was what they were trying to avoid.

My predictions:
Gamma ray causes lights to flicker, the distraction allowing Young & crew to fight the Lucian allience members. We'll see Scott & Greir still outside right before the gamma ray burst. We won't see them again until after the fight, when we see them in the airlock with Eli. They'll go get Chloe & make their way back to the regular section, maybe even launching a suprise attack on lucians if they are still holding some hostages. TJ will be fine. They've already said her dealing with being a mother will be in storylines. Telford will be fine, the lucian leader will die.

Excited to have it back but no way will I be watching it on a Tuesday. I'll just DVR it and watch it Friday like I'm used to. I can't imagine going up against a mid-week line-up will be good for ratings.

I hope the ratings pick up a bit, this is so much better than Atlantis. I would like to get a few years out of it.

The third season just started airing on the BBC a couple of weeks ago. Syfy won't show them until early next year.

Good season premiere. They pretty much resolved all the cliffhangers as expected. Not surprised that they killed off Kiva since Rhona Mitra was probably filming The Gates when this went back into production. Glad the Lucian Alliance is out of the picture for the time being. I like the show when it's focusing on the crew and their explorations.

Sucks that TJ lost her baby.....Or maybe not?

I liked this ep, it kept me interested except for the TJ dream stuff. I hope this season improves over the last. I want to like this show.

I was hoping after the self-appointed Lucian leader's speech about being ready to die Telford was going to pull out a gun, say "good," and shoot the guy in the head.

Hey no discussion about the best part of sci-fi shows? The love triangles! (joking...)

- Lucian Alliance redhead might be a love interest for Eli (tech nerd love) and serve to make Chloe re-evaluate her feelings?
- the now head Lucian Alliance guy already had a thing for TJ in last season's finale, which may cause more problems with Young
- will Greer and Scott finally dabble in the love that shall not be named?
- will Lt. James (hopefully) switch sides and shacks up with Camile?

Okay, maybe the last 2 probably won't happen...

^^ Ha! Wishful thinking that Lt. Busty will hook up with Camille. Hell I remember in one of last season's episodes she was having that sex dream about Scott.

But it was also a dream where she killed him, hence maybe, just maybe that made her re-evaluate things and it signified the "killing" of her interest in men...

okay, I'm reaching. Any kind of excuse to have her in tanktops is fine with me... :D

Awful numbers for SGU's season premiere

1.2M viewers and 0.5 in the demos. Since this is cable, the season is going to air no matter what, but that is not ideal especially for an expensive scripted show like this.

I had to get physical rehab on my FF thumb after this episode. I really hate the pacing of this show.

No surprise about the ratings. The show is really boring.

If they want better numbers, make the necessary changes. First, give us characters to care about. None of the current characters have any redeeming qualities at all. They could crash into a star and I wouldn't care a bit.

Second, make the story interesting. Soap opera sex melodrama doesn't do a thing for me. I don't want to know who is shacking up with whom. I want to know how the people are going to try to work together to overcome problems and try to get home. I don't buy the way the characters are at each others' throats every five minutes. That tells me that they are all more concerned with stroking their own egos than they are with getting home.

And third, stop taking themselves (the show's creators and writers) so seriously. The whole presentation of the show is so pretentious that I just can't stand it.

As it is, I dropped it from my DVR at the end of last season, and I honestly don't miss it, Which is a shame, because it could have been a great show.

People just want goofy Stargate Atlantis again.

I love the pacing of this show, the darkness of this show, and the fact that everyone has "issues".

:lol::thumbsup: QFTT

If I wanted to hear Rodney McKay's jokes or see John Shepherd's scowl, I'll bust open the SG-A DVD's.

And I don't think anyone is supposed to be truly likeable. Why does a show always have to have someone you need to root for? If I had to pick one, It would probably be TJ or maybe even Eli. Probably more for TJ since she's gorgeous....but I'm a little repulsed that someone that hot would sleep with someone like Young. Hence, the issues.

The problem is that it's trying to be BSG, but the show runners don't know how to do it. It's like a bunch of jocks trying to write a romance novel. How many times is the show gonna end with a slow montage with a sad Irish song playing?

D

Oh, yeah, right. I forgot. Anyone who doesn't love this tripe is just an unsophisticated dolt who doesn't "get" its brilliance. And naturally, there's the lame, self congratulatory, pretentious insult of the previous incarnation of the Stargate series (which ran for five years, BTW), and the by-association insult of those who prefer it over SGU (which was never even mentioned by me, in case you failed to notice).

Please at least TRY to form a new, original thought when concocting your insults.
