Brothers & Sisters -- Season Premiere -- "The Homecoming" -- 09/26/10

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The fifth season begins one year after the Walkers were shaken by a horrific car accident, and now the somewhat estranged family prepares for an uneasy reunion on the occasion of a homecoming party for Justin. Meanwhile, Kevin is practicing law again; Sarah is obsessed with Narrow Lake; Saul and Scotty's restaurant is up and running; and no one wants to discuss Kitty's personal life.

No pretty cast picture yet. Even ABC's media web site doesn't have one.

Cast members out:
Rob Lowe
Balthazar Getty
Luke Grimes
Emily VanCamp -- Soon to leave the show

Episode order was cut to 18. It will be replaced by Shonda Rhimes new show Off the Map in the Spring. Most believe this is the final season.

Never heard of this show until now. Is this show brand new? I really liked Emily VanCamp in Everwood years ago. Watching the third season now on dvd courtesy of Netflix.

My life is work.......Over the last year or so I have been following more and more shows with the help of the internet. I do not have the time to be at home and sitting in front of a television waiting for shows to air. The internet is usually the only way I keep up with television.

Emily joined this show mid-season 1. I would not recommend watching this show right now as it's heavily serialized and alot of backstory story transpired. Plus, Emily is leaving the show this season. It's a good family drama, so if you liked Everwood, I would recommend going back and renting this off Netflix.

I stopped watching this show last season- it just got too ridiculous for me. That list of cast members that are gone is odd- the two half-siblings?

Re: Brothers & Sisters -- Season Premiere -- "The Homecoming" -- 09/26/10

I am so happy this show is back. It's my favorite show. I love the cast. This was a strong first episode for the season. I don't like the fact that the season has a shorter episode order. I want as many episodes as I can get. I think this episode really set up for a fresh new start, and I believe it's going to be a great season, just from the tone of this first episode. I really hope it's not the final season. I think they could easily go for at least two or three more seasons.

The show looks different. Did they switch to digital? The picture looked too clean.

Why all the cast exits?

Rob Lowe and Emily VanCamp got tired of being on the show and it was also a combination with budget cuts as well since the show isn't a ratings hit as it once was.

I knew why Rob was leaving but Emily VanCamp was a surprise.
Why did they have to give Holly a memory loss storyline? Why?
And Robert is not dead?

This is the story from June that officially announced Emily leaving. She says she will be in more than 1 episode. Sucks for Justin.

I wonder what the story purpose was of leaving a Robert a vegetable for a year. They could have done the exact same story with Kitty grieving his death for a year and finally starting to live her life again.

Probably to get back to Rob Lowe. It's the classic soap opera play when dealing with unhappy actors.

I was surprised they went this way too. It looked like Rob Lowe's character was dead on the season finale.
I don't know, it seems like this show is spiraling out of control with the cast exits and giving Saul AIDS and Holly loss of Memory.
