Nice little video with interviews with Weiner, Moss and Hamm talking about episode 9 last week and alot of the subtext.

AMC videos don't embed on this site for some reason, so I can only provide a link.

Thanks for providing the link. I watched the vignette for each of the S4 shows and enjoyed them. I'm hoping those will be included on the DVDs.

What's your problem? He can post in whatever color he wants to.

It's a long story. We had another member here who annoyingly posted in blue. Just thought I missed something. No worries.

The conversation between Don and Betty when they thought the phone was tapped was priceless.

Interesting episode

Betty will flip out when/if she finds out that Don told Faye about who he really is so quickly. though I don't know if Faye will be around much longer given the shot of Don checking out Megan at the end.

It was odd not seeing Peggy

Loved the shot at the end of Don staring at his secretary putting on lipstick. He looked like a lion watching a baby Gazelle.

Great episode, but what a bummer one. I literally did a spit-take with my beer when Lane's dad clocked him in the head with his cane. Wow.

Man, he hasn't learned a thing from the incident pre-oldass secretary whose name I forget.

Anyway, I liked this episode if only because we finally got to see "Brown Bunny" who was a character mentioned in the Mad Men interview in Rolling Stone last week. Weird having no Peggy (But we got Pete instead!). I guess they're still signing the tertiary cast to those 10 episode a season contracts.

Can't blame him though.

Not a good week for Roger.

that whole panic attack scene seemed so out of character for Don who normally handles tough situations with a little more coolness usually

This wasn't a "tough situation". This was him facing the complete and utter collapse of his life and everything he'd worked towards.

And many years ago the ultimate penalty for desertion was death. You do know that, right? I'm not even sure if that law was still on the books during Don's time but it did used to be a very real option.

Re: Mad Men -- "Hands and Knees" -- 09/26/10

What an amazing episode! This show is The Sopranos week to week...it is a mini movie with plenty of call backs (if you pay attention) and subtext galore. Nicely done.

There were some major developments in this one, that could have huge ramifications on the final 3 episodes.

As I said last week, give Hamm the Emmy now...he does deserve it. Also I got to give credit to John Slattery, really impressive performance last night.

I don't ever recall his ruse being exposed to the government before. I may be forgetting something, though.

Yeah, but in the past it was people like Pete, or his little brother. It's not like he can luck into the government hanging itself.

Re: Mad Men -- "Hands and Knees" -- 09/26/10

I am just loving this season. Just phenomenal all around.

I like how Pete has matured as the series has gone on. Younger Pete was really anxious to throw Don under the bus, but now he realizes that if Don goes down, the entire agency goes down. The self sacrifice was really impressive on Pete's part. I guess the fact Pete is now a partner has a lot to with it.

Not just the government, but the Department of Defense. That would be the people who would be prosecuting him for desertion.

I also wanted to mention that my hometown, Morristown, NJ, got a shout-out last night. That was kind of cool.

That was insane. Lane may as well have been 15 years old this entire episode.
