Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The sixth season begins with Sam being released from hell and trying to convince Dean to rejoin him in fighting evil. To help persuade him, Sam introduces Dean to a new family led by their grandfather Samuel (Mitch Pileggi).

I don't care what some of you think of how this show should have ended after last season. I'm more than happy to have the Winchester boys back another season.

As some of you probably already know, Eric Kripke has left the show as showrunner, but will hang around as a writer/consultant. Sera Gamble, who was a writer and producer on the show, takes over. She wrote the season premiere.

This video is a little dated (Feb) when they celebrated their 100th episode. But, this is what Sera Gamble, the new showruner, looks like. She is quite attractive.

So glad this is back. I want to know how Sam escaped being in Lucifer.

Slightly off topic, but didnt deserve own thread.

Does anyone know what kind of whiskey they drink? Is it a generic produced for TV brand that says "Whiskey" or actual ones. I don't have recording capabilities, and nearly break my damn neck trying to crane it sideways when they show a bottle. I haven't recognized specific brands aside from an occasional Bushmills white in early episodes.

Dorky or not, it is kinda fun for me to drink along with tv characters and use the same brands they are. (like Canadian Club and Jameson on MadMen)

TIA

Well I hope they don't take too long to pull Dean back in.

Love that this show is back.

I wonder what Gramps is up to?

I didn't really feel this ep too much. It was great to have the show back but it feels off. I actually don't care how Gramps and Sammy came back. For some reason that plotline (or the mystery of what Gramps is up to) isn't all that compelling to me.

I know it's just a s season premier but usually season premiers of this show hook me instantly.

After seeing this episode I would have preferred they not shown Sam at the end of the last season's finale. Why not leave it up in the air? I liked the opening musical scene and I like that Pileggi is back but the rest of the family can die a quick death.

Next week's episode looks pretty weak.

I liked seeing Parker Lewis.

Glad it's back, but I hope they don't screw it up.

I completely agree with this. The best ever was when Dean was busted out of hell.. I was almost out of breath when the episode was over.. Tonight's , not so much.

The female cousin was more than a little creepy for my taste. They can go away and I wouldn't miss them.

I know that
Spoiler:
Cas and Crowley will be back soon .
I hope that kicks everything back into high gear.

All that said.. Still damn happy to have it back.. :D Jensen eye candy is always welcome.

I have to agree about something feeling off, mostly with the way Sam acted, and it lacked the humor is usually has.

I had a hard time buying Sam would try and guilt Dean into leaving his Lisa and the kid and become a hunter again.

I'll agree also on both points. This ep really didn't have it for me, I think partly lb/c of your second point.

But I think also b/c for two extremely close brothers at the end of last season, When Sam revealed it he was back, the two just didn't act close to me. More like old friends who hadn't seen each other in awhile or something.

It was just all....off, not quite sure why exactly. I hope this ep was a fluke.

I am a little confuse about last night,
Spoiler:
the scene where the Gjinn got Dean and they said he was going to die. then cut to a commercial and after that he is back with Sam and is okay. Did I miss something.
I didn't know if i need to put this in spoilers or not. Btw I am waiting for the moment Dean gets the impala out of the garage and heads back out on the road.

Re: Supernatural -- Season Premiere -- "Exile on Main Street" -- 09/24/10

Sam had the antidote to the Gjinn poison and presumably rushed over and gave it to Dean.

This was a very underwhelming premiere. I knew it would be difficult to follow up last season, but this ep had very little going for it. Right at the end I was thinking "OK, here's where they hook us with a great reveal ...." and then credits, nothing. I think it would be near impossible to top last season's premiere, heck I watched that 3 times in as many days, but with this episode it's like they didn't even try.

I just realized there was no classic rock. Even on the intro. I hope that returns. It's as much a part of the show as the brothers and the Impala.

Weak episode with a piss-poor resolution to Sam being in Hell. Also the grandpa being back is retarded.

Can't imagine it will feel anything but forced once
Spoiler:
Cas
returns

Re: Supernatural -- Season Premiere -- "Exile on Main Street" -- 09/24/10

In the original episode with the Gjinn they talked about how "badass" they are. Well fighting two of 'em off with a lamp doesn't seem that "badass".

I don't care for the Campbell family and this episode did seem off. Hopefully the rest of the season picks up.

Gunde 09-25-10 02:19 PM

Re: Supernatural -- Season Premiere -- "Exile on Main Street" -- 09/24/10

Only way to redeem this episode would be if Sam was still Lucifer and the one orchestrating all of this.
I guess that could explain everything that felt 'off'.

Bob Segar's Beautiful Loser was played during the Dean family man montage.

That wasn't actually resolved. All we know is that Sam was pulled out of Hell. But we still don't know who did it and for what reason.

Very underwhelming. The episode ended so abruptly. Oh well, I'm sure it will pick up soon.
