Can't wait for this. With the exception of the finale for Season 8, Smallville always, always has a kick-ass beginning and end to the season.

Boy, I would love to be watching this, but Charter has screwed up both the hd and non hd CW channels in my area tonight. Any idea if/when these will get posted online?

watching now
although I already knew it to be the case, hearing Welling say "and now the final season of Smallville" made me sad
kind of wish they had been able to hide the guest star names until the end though but that likely violates some hollywood union rules
tess got a huge facial while she was unconscious

I bailed out towards the end of last season but whatched this for the heck of it. I was surprise how it totally pulled me in. I forgot how great Smallville is with season openers. Goven this is the last season, I hope they keep that momentum going.
I loved the guy who portrayed adult Lex. He looked like Bruce Spence but imitated Rosenbaum's inflection and gestures flawlessly. Shame they killed him off in one ep. Hopefully young Lex will age super fast and we'll get that actor again.

Re: Smallville -- Season Premiere -- "Lazarus" -- 09/24/10
Everyone hurry up and watch so you can explain it to me, heh..
A lot seemed forced just to have appearances by all the cast.
I'm still not sure of the point of the evil-lex (mini-lex says stay away he's evil, somehow throws Lois on the cross around the fire, but he's already pretty much dead anyway, Clark does a 'speed save the day' that doesn't really seem as big a deal as he makes it in his mind)
My questions...
I thought Jor-El was gone. I can understand the 'almost dead and talking to him', but how was he talking to him in the fortress.
WTF with the suit? I guess it's Jor-El saying he's not ready again, but the tease is getting worse and worse.
Did we really get anything from the Chloe/Oliver storyline? Who was the guy that recognized Oliver as Green Arrow? My friend thought Chloe and Oliver switched, I didn't get that at all, I'll have to watch that again.
The letter of Lois deciding to just go away was pretty poor writing to have her away for a few eps.
Not a good start IMO. I did like the talk with Jonathon and Clark. That was about the only thing that seemed real (maybe that's what they were going for, since it wasn't)

Chloe and Oliver were definitely exchanged. I'm guessing the guy works for Checkmate. We also saw Darkseid briefly towards the end. So he's the great evil. Adult Lex was there to show what Little Lex will grow into (sans illness and probably go by the name of Alexander Luthor II), which is why we saw he was burning one of his toy soldiers (there's darkness in him).
As for Clark, he was just so sure he defeated Lex and thus saved the day. His hubris blinded him to the fact that Lex isn't the current problem. Though he will be the future nemesis. Jor-El is just an immortal douche blessed with an awesome voice.

I'm good with anything Darkseid, his flunkies, and Apokolips. We kinda figured that out at the end last year with Oliver in the duct work. I didn't get the switch, so it didn't seem like they moved anything on that story front. My bad. Looking forward to more of this one.

Likes:
-Dr Fate Mask
-Lios' tank top with the "S"
-Mercy's healing Facial.
-Clark kinda flyin'
Didn't like:
The Luthor clone angle.
The way the show has turned Jor-El into a Ghost-Prick

Short of Lois in the tank top I thought this sucked major balls. The old Les was a waste of time and they really need to drop the Lex angle unless they're getting Rosenbaum back for an appearance.
No idea who was beating Oliver and they failed to make me care.
Never been a Darkseid fan so seeing him was anti-climactic for me.
Stop it with Jor-El and the fortress. It's the same thing over and over and over again.

I agree the episode was all over the place, not one of their best premieres. But Lois / Clark / Bo Duke and Chloe as Dr. Fate were good. Did not like the Lex angle, rushing through it made it worse, but maybe that was for the better. Jor-El is definitely a douche.
I check this site if I didn't understand something.

I thought the same thing
Rosenbaum has continued to be adamant that he's not coming back so I think that's why they threw the line about the creator being dead in there.
I liked that Jor-El was nice enough to take the suit out of the box and hang it up so it doesn't wrinkle.

I liked the episode a lot, and I too was kind of sad to hear Welling introduce it as the final season. It's obviously not a shock, but I'll be sad to see it go after 10 years.
The Lex clones was an interesting idea, and I think a clever way to bring Luthor back to the series in case Rosenbaum doesn't return.
Lois in the 'S' tanktop was aces!
Justin Hartley continues to impress, also. He just keeps getting better and better, IMO.
I liked a lot of the references to previous seasons too, like the Smallville Scarecrow and The Torch.
Thanks for the new sig!
