Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Goddamn, I am on the wrong side of the camera...
Sources confirm that the stars of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory have successfully negotiated major pay raises from the show’s producer, Warner Bros. TV. Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco will get $200,000 an episode for the fourth season (compared to about $60,000 last season). Their paychecks will then spike to $250,000 per episode in season five, $300,000 in season six, and $350,000 in season seven. The actors will also each receive .25 point of the show’s back-end and over $1 million as an advance, plus another $1 million for the seventh season. Ka-ching. |
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
wow - just wow
I didn't know the show was that popular. I watch it, but don't know a ton of people who do. |

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
I hope they take care of their supporting cast (but agree they don't deserve as much as the lead-status cast -- it's a pretty clear dichotomy).

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Kaley has enough money to to buy us that love nest she has been promising me.
I wonder how those salaries compare to the cast of HIMYM. |
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
If Charlie Sheen is worth over a million bucks per "Two and a Half Men" episode then the "Big Bang Theory" guys (which gets more, younger viewers than "Men") more than deserve their paltry-by-comparison $200K salary bumps. Don't watch either show though.

I think Patrick Warburton gets paid with free beer and Arby's coupons for Rules of Engagement

Plus it's warm stale beer and the Arby's coupons expire in two weeks.

good god why?

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
It's still peanuts compared to what the producers will make over the long run, of course.
The ratings are great, the reviews are positive, and Parsons is coming off an Emmy win. Sounds like the perfect time for a raise. Now let's see how well the show does on its new night. |
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Makes sense since they are moving to the show to a more lucrative night, where it should do fine.
|
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Well deserved, as far as i'm concerned.

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Good for them.
I just caught seasons 1 & 2 over the summer and just started 3 in hopes of catching up for season 4. I think it's a great show. |
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
I like this show a lot, but I can't see it being good in a season 6 or 7.

For some reason, without watching any episode, I thought it was a dumb show. I didn't "hated" it, like I "hate" Two and a half men, that I haven't watched any episode either, but was never interested on it. I don't remember why, but I netflixed the first season and I fell in love with the show. I just started the third season in blu-ray and hope to be ready for next week. |

What is $200K like two commercials? Producers are making bank.

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Man, that's chump change honestly... to decipher Hollywood-speak... 0.25 points on the back end? Let's say they ink a $100 million syndication deal... that means that the principal cast will make $250,000 each from that deal.
Still... $200,000 an episode and half the year off... I'd probably take it :D |

Good for them.
I don't really watch this show, but I've seen it and find it funnier than 90% of other comedies on the air right now. |

There's only one word that can describe this (and I think they completely deserve the raise):

Big Bang Theory Tribute Coming to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
The Big Bang Theory is getting some love at the CBS studios where an entire episode of "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" will be dedicated to the U.S. sitcom "The Big Bang Theory," CBS said. The episode is to air September 22. "Host Craig Ferguson will kick off the themed night with a taped sketch from the set of TV's No. 1 scripted series among (people ages) 18-49," the network said in a news release Thursday. "Then, the cast of 'The Big Bang Theory' will appear on Ferguson's stage in 'The Late Late Show's' signature tweets and e-mails segment, a comedy sketch and guest interviews." http://www.thirdage.com/news/big-ban...uson_9-17-2010 |
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Whoops!
With star Kaley Couco sidelined by a broken leg following a horseback accident last weekend, The Big Bang Theory is taking a breather to give more time to the actress to recuperate -- and to the writers to figure out how to handle her absence. The Warner Bros TV-produced show is on a scheduled week-long hiatus, which started on Wednesday. Now it has been extended for another week. Cuoco missed the taping at the beginning of this week, and probably won't be able to start right after the hiatus ends. But producers are optimistic that she may be gone for as few as 2-3 episodes altogether. It is not clear if her injury will be written into the show. But it seems clear that the actress will be able to make a full recovery. |

Yeah, why doesn't CBS do special shows celebrating canceled series from other networks? :hscratch:
You're right, it would be odd to see someone on a talk show from another network. |

Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
Is Kaley Cuoco's character more integral to the show than Raj or Wolowitz?
|
Re: Big Bucks for Cast of The Big Bang Theory
I would say so. I think the show has a 3 part lead with two sidekicks.
