Absolutely. If she didn't have kids, there's no way she would have remarried, at least not right away.

Really great opening scene, with the Stones and the Streets of NY. Sometimes you forget where you are in time when wathcing MadMen, the times they are a changing.

Hamm has really been outstanding this season.

Ep was just loaded with moments of gold, the signed photo of Jeb Clampett, Don dealing with Drinking Smoking and "Excercise", the "fairy" reference, the porno cartoon, Don & Betty moving on etc..

Just another beauty of an ep coming after what was one of the best eps of the series, well done again Mr. Weiner

Pete's small screen time in this episode was great, "When did we get a vending machine?"

I love this shows sense of humor.

I'm surprised Pete doesn't get ragged for being such an effeminate priss...... well, I guess he can't get ragged now, since he's a partner. Lucky for him.

I wonder how differently things would have turned out if Pete had told Sterling instead of Cooper about Don being "Dick."

And how long before Don reveals this to his new love interest? If he's going to continue to improve himself, he will have to tell her the truth about his identity. After all, it wasn't really all the cheating that drove Betty over the edge, it was the lie about Don's identity.

Not only a Stones song, but probably their most famous. Maybe Mick and Keith are Mad Men fans and gave them a deal?

Of course YOU wouldn't, but you're not Don fucking Draper now are you. ;)

his 10 second screentime was pretty funny.

Also the grim faces of Don on the phone w/ Henry and Betty standing next to Don and date at the restaurant were intense.

This ep was three months after the last one, so does Pete have a new baby at home by now?

Oops! It was just one month.

Excellent point! You would have thought that someone would have at least said something in passing to confirm this event as being in the past tense.

The film noir feel with Don's narration was pretty neat. They went 180 on him in this episode as Don keeps to himself and is private (even to the audience) and now we hear his every thought.

Seems like Betty finds herself in the same situation she was with Don. It's not who she's married to that's the problem, it's the fact that she's married and has kids. She'd obviously rather be single and back living the life.
Maybe it's because we haven't seen her much this season, but she looked pretty hot at the restaurant.

Pete has had about 30 seconds screen time in total in the last 2 episodes. No Roger at all this episode, and he's had a few episodes with limited screen time. Cooper's barely been in any episodes this whole season... I miss him.

so, with that art guy gone, does this mean the return of Sal?

Meh, I hope not. I liked the character, but he had his story arc. We got Ken back already - I don't want them recycling all the old characters. Introduce someone new.

Surprised to see Don's thoughts, but a great episode. And yeah, that thought was very bland because I accidentally posted Jersey Shore thoughts here, and figured I might as well comment on this ep!

Great episode. It's nice to see Don getting himself together, and to see some of the other characters falling apart.

I was a little disappointed at first, but then remembered the context of the last episode. And you're right, it was like the audience needed a breather. This was a good choice by the creative staff.

Last week was incredibly intense.

I think Sal is important, and eagerly await his return. Ken on the other hand, really offers absolutely nothing to the show, save for being a foil for Pete, which is now greatly limited given Pete's status within the new company.

I'd also like to see the return of the bearded guy, with the black girlfriend... whatshisname.

Yeah, let's not turn this new company into a gimmick where they just use it to bring back EVERY single old character, even the ones who sucked ass at their job.

Its understandable they would want Ken because he was good at what he did. But I didn't get the impression that Sal or beard-face were particularly stellar employees.

Exactly. She's a horrific mother, and I liked her "He's the only man I'd ever been with" lie. Not exactly true...

Sal is not going to come back and work for SCDP. They are beholden to Lee Garner of Lucky Strike, and that means Sal is persona non grata. When Sal was fired from SC, he was becoming a commercial director, so I expect that he will cross paths with the SCDP gang, and the audience that clamors for Sal will have to be satisfied with that update on the character's fate.

It was an obvious and foregone conclusion that Ken would end up at SCDP because the actor who plays him was kept in the opening credits all season. Now, was that merely a contractual thing, and AMC didn't want to eat the guys salary? Or does Wiener have some significant plans for Ken? Right now having this established character around to deliver a few insignificant lines each episode seems like quite a waste. They brought Harry along for the SCDP start-up and all he's doing is providing some mild comic relief. Disappointing.

Beard-face aka Paul should not come back. He was a copywriter, and SCDP doesn't hire expensive copywriters.

When - what year - did society deem it "wrong" to drink on the job? I know that smoking in the office became a no-no on or around 1991, the year I first started working in an office.

I liked Paul more than I like Harry - and I didn't like Sal at all.

I think I would be devastated if Jon Hamm died suddenly. I'd feel bad for his family, sure, but mostly I'd feel bad for myself because, without Hamm as Don Draper, there is no "Mad Men."

Jon Hamm should take advantage and do what many other actors have done - take a chance, ask for a huge raise, or threaten to break your contract and leave the show. Larry Hagman, aka J.R. Ewing took the chance, and won; Carroll O'Conner, aka Archie Bunker took the chance, and won. I think Jon Hamm has that kind of chance, too.

P.S. as good as Hamm is as Don Draper, I don't think he would thrive as a movie star. Some people are just very good TV show actors (like Hagman, for example), but don't have "what it takes" to do movies.
