I really like Donal Logue so I'm planning on checking this out. The promos look pretty good. FX has been on a roll recently with their dramas (and comedies for that matter), so I suspect this one won't disappoint.

The only thing I saw with Donal Logue previously was in Life's 2nd season. His character on that show was really annoying and scuzzy. I'm checking this out because I like the creative team behind it and being a cable show you know it will have a little more creative freedom than the networks.

BTW, all 13 episodes were already filmed this past Spring. I followed Shawn Ryan's twitter page and he has plugging the show alot.

I really liked him in Grounded For Life and some bit parts I've seen him in in movies.

Hes the kiss of death for a TV show.

love F/X's track record of dramas, but for some reason this just doesn't interest me at all

How so? Grounded for Life ran for nearly 100 episodes.

I think you're confusing Logue with Eric Balfour.

Been waiting for this. I've never seen a Shawn Ryan project I didn't like.

The mysterious promos that FX ran didn't do anything to make me interested in this show, and I'm not a big Donal Logue fan, but critic Alan Sepinwall loves the show and I respect his taste, so now I'll check it out.

That's a bit of a myth, though. While McGinley would step in late as a recurring character in established shows, he was in no way the death of them;

Happy Days - 61 episodes
Dynasty - 34 episodes
Married... with Children - 164 episodes

Hardly the Grim Reaper of Television, as many would like to claim.

I've been a fan of Logue's since Tao of Steve, so I'll check it out. I wonder if James will break out his cajun accent for this...

i know. he's just mentioned as the guy who killed shows the most often.

I think of Donal Logue as a kiss of death for shows too, even though I think he's great. I'm looking forward to this but heard it doesn't start to get really good until eps 3-5... hopefully viewers will stick with it that long (although on FX I'm sure they will).

Donal Logue always looks greasy.

Re: Terriers -- New FX Series -- "Pilot" -- 09/08/10

Isn't Paula Marshall the true TV show kiss of death? Christopher Gorham had some cred until this summer's breakout hit Covert Affairs.

Also, I am struck by a passing similarity in the promo photo above between Logue and Jeff Bridges as The Dude. It amuses me.

This gets a season pass from me. No other new show does (though some shows will probably get a season pass for convenience sake, this one is one I will watch for the whole season no matter what). I'm super psyched for it.

This was different than I expected, but was interesting. I'll keep watching.

The only thing I had seen of this were the billboards (with the dog holding a card that said "Terriers" on it). Had no interest, but now that I discover Donal Logue's in it, I'll watch it.

I figured Louge would be the3 low point as I'm not a fan, but even with him the premier was both funny and dramatic and I enjoyed it very much. I'm in.

It was fairly generic.

"don't touch him. does he have id on him?"
"don't touch him? check for id? which? which?"

i'm digging the vibe of the show.

just finished the episode. very well done. a bit slow, but i like how they set up the season arc with a bad guy. very similar to how Justified got set up. hopefully they do it like that, where there is always the threat of the bad guy lingering mixed in with them doing job of the week type stuff.
