question about tivo
Hello,
I was reading on the best buy website about the tivo that can record 2 shows at once, but only one of the shows can be in digital and the other one a regular channel. but how can that be if every channel is supposed to be in digital? and i dont even have cable right now, all i have is the dtv box that we had to get if you didnt have cable when everything went digital. will it even work without having cable? does anyone have an answer for me? |
Re: question about tivo
That's the older Dual Tuner Series 2 boxes that were like that. The Series 3, HD, HDXL and the Premiere all record in digital on both tuners. All the boxes mentioned will work without cable as well. I was actually using one of my Series 3 boxes with a simple tabletop HDTV antenna for a bit until I got my cable cards installed in it. Hope this helps a bit.

Re: question about tivo
I have a Series 3 HD and I have an HD antenna in one input and basic, cheap analog cable in the second. this allows me to record all my favorite local shows in HD and then grab anything that's not HD or not a big deal on the cable feed to save space.
