God, Betty is just a catastrophe of a mother.

BTW, I was gonna say how Lane reminds me of a young Richard Harris, then I realized that the actor IS Harris' son

I'm halfway through watching this, and the gems are coming fast and furious.

Japanese guy @ Jane: "How does she not fall over?"

On the Japanese guys:
Don: "You don't get to kill this account."
Roger: "Well, you know how they are. Maybe they'll kill it themselves."

at Don's new secretary.

I was really surprised Don didn't fire that battle-axe, either to her face or indirectly through Joan.

Great episode, but I was more uncomfortable during the Sally TV scene than the meeting that Roger crashed.

Don's new secretary wrestling with Pete over the gift made me LOL, that new secretary cracks me up.

"White Hair" => Sterling

And of course Betty made Sally's issue all about Betty.

"I know the man pees inside the woman"

I love the fact that the girl who plays Sally is a better actress than January Jones.

I cracked up when Blankenship called Pete and Lane "Misters Peters and Pryce" and being as loud as possible with "your daughter's psychiatrist." The attempted call to California with no answer might mean bad news is coming about Anna.

That does it - I'm shutting down my campaign for Betty as Mother of the Year.

Another great episode. This is shaping up to be the best season of the show.

Loved how they were all laughing at this new Honda car with 57 hp - little do they know. It seems Pete has become a stronger partner than Roger. Does anybody else think Roger might end up losing Lucky Strike and become irrelevant?

Re: Mad Men -- "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword" -- 08/22/10

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but is this really the last season? If so, why?

I'm extremely late to the show but plan to buy it on BD. If this is the last season, I might wait for a complete series set.

If not, then I just plan on picking them up based on great deals as they come. What is considered a great price for Mad Men on BD?

Since I'm so late, I might wait to see if I can get them all on or around BF on Amazon.

I just think this show might have some really cool extras if they do a complete series. Doubt they'd screw it up like Lost (which I'll be getting anyway).

Anyway, thanks for allowing a new fan to ask some questions not pertaining to this week's episode. It's just so addictive, I thought I'd ask now so I might get a head start on enjoying all that I've missed.

Where did you hear that? Matt Weiner signed a two year deal last year, so there will be this season and at least one more.

Weiner's signed through next season and there were reports he was working on a deal for a sixth season, but AMC wants to still do the show even if he leaves.

If fingers are gonna get cut off for the girl getting caught, i dont want to think about what might get cut off if the boy was caught.

Don't remember which is why I made sure to point out that I wasn't sure at all.

Good to know there is much more to come.

Now, I have no desire to wait for a box set. So, please anyone, what's considered a great price on this show on BD? Anyone think all the seasons already out might be part of a BF deal? Thanks.

I loved that line, since she had mentioned that her mom threatened to cut her hair off earlier.

Who was it that Roger mentioned in his first tantrum, something like "I suppose you wouldn't mind if we brought Dr. _____ in" and after he left Pete said "Who's that?"

One of the biggest laughs was the music selection for the closing credits: c'mon, for an episode that involved little Sally's masturbation, using I Enjoy Being A Girl was a natural!

Don's secretary is obviously there for comic relief, but I do find it completely out of character that Don would keep her. I know she offers no temptation, and that's an angle, but still. She's very "sitcomy" and I wouldn't think Draper would stand for that shit.

That would be Dr. Lyle Evans. and he's become a popular google search since last night.

Anybody else actually like Henry Francis this week? He gave out some sound parenting advise, spoke up when Betty crossed the line and kept quiet when he knew that he couldn't help.

I did want Don to step back in after dropping off the kids when Betty and Henry were talking about him being a shitty dad and be all "Hey..just checking, but do you jackoffs still live in my house? Ok then...goodnight."
