Unlike American Idol, this show seems to be getting better with age. I am really excited for tonight's finale.

Patman

The judges really went out of their way to be really supportive of the finalists tonight, with just teensy bits of critiques, and lots of love.

Kent - had the night's best number with Alyson, but 3 other average numbers, with the bollywood number being oddly performed as it was more of a mash-up.

Lo Fro - had 2 solid numbers with Robert and Pascha, and 2 okay numbers. Her Latin number oozed sex appeal coupled with some complicated lifts.

Robert - had a dynamic number with Kathryn and a solid number with Lo Fro, but the other 2 were okay.

At this point, if I had a vote, it'd probably go to Lo Fro, but I'm okay with either Kent or even Robert (he did improve the most this season) winning it all.

Ranger

I think Lauren should and will win, Robert gets 2nd place, and Kent 3rd. All three had a good night.

The finales are usually boring, but this was a pretty good finale. Hope results show is good.

Renee

I really enjoyed the show, but it lacked that really amazing number that we've gotten used to seeing in finales. Still, some really creative choreography. I loved the political theme and the interrogation scene.

I think Kent will win this year. He had the most emotionally impactful performance of the night with Alyson, and his response to the judges critique of that number will most likely win him a few extra votes.

I'm with the judges in that I really don't mind seeing any of these 3 win. I feel like they are all worthy and I enjoy watching each of them. I can't remember feeling that way in the past, and I've watched all but the first season.

I've never felt this way about a competition show before...but I really wouldn't mind if any of the three won. I pretty much like them all.

And now that the season is over, I have to say that I really ended up loving the All-Star experiment. At first I thought it would be a distraction, but it ended up being the opposite. It allowed you to focus on the one competing dancer. I hope they bring it back.

I think they re-did the schedule this season to give dancers more time to rest and practice with a live taping Wed instead of a recording on Monday. Seems to have worked out well; none of the dancers looked too tired.

Looked it up and season 6 finale had 9 dances, but this season had 12! More interesting with all-stars in the mix.

edit: whoops, think I meant each contestant did four dances instead of three like in last season. So 9, not 12.

I would think so (4 of 11 [36%] had an injury at some time during the season).

Very happy with the results. I wouldn't have been upset no matter how it went, but I was rooting for Lauren and I'm thrilled to see her win.

Very surprised by the results, but also very happy with the winner. Hooray!

I'm happy with the result. I didn't really want Kent to win it, but I thought that Robert was the best dancer. Either way, I think this is more about America's favorite dancer and Lauren is a solid dancer and likable person.

Does this mean Kent wins the $50,000 for being the top "guy" finisher? (I'm just going by what they gave Katee in season 4 for being the top girl contestant).

Congrats to SYTYCD for giving us a great season and three solid dancers at the finish.

I too am happy with the result and loved how Lauren got Gatoraded at the end!



Thanks for letting me run the threads again this season. Now to wait for SNL to start again.

Finally! The best woman won. Lauren is incredibly talented and thoroughly deserved tonight's win. Kudos.

On a negative note, anyone else getting really sick of Cat's smarmy and stupid cutesy shtick? I think this show really needs a new host.

[Edit] Gotta hand it to Ellen Degeneres -- that took guts! And I thought she was pretty good for a complete amateur.

At first I thought she got Gatoraded as well, but I rewound it, and she actually Gatoraded herself with that bottle that Russell gave her.

Oh, and of course I am thrilled with the results.

I'm with you on that and I used to like her as a host. This past season has been particularly annoying.

Me three. Cat Deely was a big reason of why I used to love the show - and now she just seems obnoxious and is part of what makes me like it less than I used to. Glad Lauren won, she was the best dancer IMO - even if she did say some pretty stupid shit over the course of the show.

Unfortunately I have to agree as well. She used to be charming but lately she's inserting herself too much into the show.

Neil is a beast on the dance floor. I always LOL when he gets to put his bare foot on Kent's face at the end of their "BFF No More" dance number.

I'd have to disagree. She used to be amusing, but that novelty has worn off, and her lack of natural charm/charisma is now showing through.

Just saw the finale. VERY glad Lauren won, though I was a bit shocked as I figured Kent had it in the bag, especially since the night before he had what I thought was one of his best performances.

Aw, what's all the hate for Cat? Pull away from the show and she's still one of the best reality show hosts for shows like this. And you can tell she really cares for the contestants. I hope she sticks around for a long time.
