With how thin her body appears to be there is no way her face looks like that from weight. You don't gain all your weight in your face. Appears a side effect of prednisone is called "moon-face". Looks alot like that...

Guess again. When that promo shot for Baywatch was taken, she WAS in her late thirties. Whatever happened to her happened in her forties. And it doesn't look like simple weight gain to me. Her face is disproportionately puffy, like the type of reaction I've seen in some people to certain medications. (D'oh! jiffy97 beat me to it!)

But if it is "just" weight gain, then it is sad. Not because she should be vainly trying to have the same youthful appearance she did in the twenties (or, correctly adjusted, in her thirties). There is nothing wrong with looking like a 48-year-old. But she doesn't look like a healthy 48-year-old.

I don't agree with the idea that actresses are not allowed to grow old ungracefully. She is 48 after all. I am 4 years older and I would give her a second look. Great part about getting older is not only do young women look good, but so do older women.

That being said ... I think this picture shows the wrath of aging even more.

peoples faces tend to get more gaunt with age, unless there has been some drastic weight gain, which would be evident on the rest of her body. clearly there is something else at play here.

Looks like a fairly normal 48 year old woman to me. Sure many Hollywood stars work to stay in shape, but a lot of people sort of let go in their 30s and 40s.

If you have access to someone in their late 40's facebook page, look at their friends. Most will have a wider face. A persons body can change depending on genetics. It happens.

Look at someone like Sela Ward. She's 54 now and looks just as glamorious and beautiful as she did 25 years ago on Sisters or even 10 years ago when she was in her 40's on Once and Again. It's just a matter on how well the actor or actress chooses to take care of themselves when they get older through diet and exercise....and maybe a nip and tuck here and there.

I don't know what the hell happened to Mitzi's face, but I'm sure if she was continuing to get regular work, she would have taken better care of herself physically.
