Epic fight scenes

A friend of mine is watching The Shield for the first time. She just got through the season three episode where Shane beats the crap out of
Spoiler:
Tavon
I still remember how brutal and Epic the fight was. I still consider it the most violent fight scene on Television.

Other notable favorites:

South Park 'Cripple fight'

Buffy: Becoming Part 2 end sword fight

Graduation Day Part 1

The Gift

What are your favorite epic fight scenes?

I hate that somebody is going to post the stupid Peter vs. The Chicken fights they do on Family Guy when they don't have enough plot to fill 22 minutes.

Great pick, although
Spoiler:
Tavon also beat the crap out of Shane. IIRC, it was Shane's wife hitting Tavon with an iron that ended up winning the fight.

I'll add the Tony vs. Ralphie fight in The Sopranos. That one took me by surprise.

This one has always impressed me with its intensity.

Peter vs. the Chicken, Round I

The fight between Jack and Locke during the finale of Lost was pretty sweet too.

I'm rewatching Mortal Kombat Conquest, and i tell you what, the fight scenes are better than most Western made Martial arts movies (not quite upto Hong Kong cinema standard but still).

The lead actors are great and the villians are very skilled.

Surprised no one has posted the Syd vs Francie fight from the season 2 finale of Alias

Re: Epic fight scenes

That "Becoming" fight on Buffy was completely ruined for me because Angelus' swordfighting double looked exactly like Xander did at the time. The hairline, the shoulders, it was Xander.

My favorite TV fights are:

ANGEL:
'To Shanshu in L.A.' - Angel goes up against Vocah with old fashioned sickle weapons
'Redefinition' - where Angel kills a group of vampires in the sewers (favorite fight of the series)
'Rain of Fire' (Apocalypse, Nowish) - Angel and Co. unsuccessfully try to take out The Beast (second favorite of the series)
'Release' - Angelus and Faith try to kill each other

The 'Destiny' Spike/Angel fight is good but by no means a favorite, though it is epic.

DEEP SPACE NINE:
'The Way of The Warrior' - The whole DS9 crew gets into a knife/phaser brawl with Klingons
'To The Death' - most of the DS9 crew gets into it again, this time outdoors
'The Siege of AR-558' - Most of the crew gets into a grim, bloody shootout that devolves into hand-to-hand combat

'BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER':
'Innocence' - Buffy and Angel, now Angelus share their feelings in a movie theater lobby underneath fire sprinklers
'Graduation Day' - The entire high school graduating class goes all-out on vampires and Mayor Snake

Some of the Faith/Buffy fights are pretty good as well.

Brutal stuff. Even the build-up is epic. Enjoy...

Re: Epic fight scenes

The chicken fighting in Family Guy is not supposed to be a good fight... what they are lampooning is every other famous fight scene. I love catching bits from Old Boy, Die Hard and old school Captain Kirk moves. As a big martial arts buff I keep silly stuff like fight choreography in my head probably more then most people... I dunno. I think they're great (but yes... waaaaay to long).

Do they still do the chicken fights every once in a while? I've only seen the first 3

No. The last "fight" (I put it in quotes cos it was just the chicken bashing Peter in the head with different items) was when Peter had amnesia and the chicken got offended cos he thought Peter was ignoring him.
