Haven -- "Harmony" -- 07/23/10
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Episode 3 of 13
This is actually episode 104 in the production order. Last week was episode 103 and next week will be 102. Not that it matters since the plots seem standalone for the most part.

Well, I might be the only one around here, but I'm really enjoying this show. The cast is good and I love the locale. This ep was nicely poignant, quirky and tense.
I hope the show sticks around long enough to explore some of the mysteries it has hinted at.

Okay so I finally got caught up with episodes 2 and 3. I was disappointed with the Pilot because of it's clunky writing and flat performances, but the last 2 episodes have actually been really good.
This episode was particularly good IMO because it had a sweet love story in the back drop of the dark Crazies/Mental patient story. I thought it was really moving that the husband used music to get his wife back from insanity. It was kind of weird seeing that Eureka and Haven both had similar themes in their storytelling on Friday night. It was a trip to see Nathan crazy and lighting up his arm and then beating the shit out of Eric Balfour. I still don't really get the point of Balfour's character Duke.
Audrey is actually an interesting character and I think Emily Rose is growing into the character more. The mystery woman who may or may not be Audrey's mother is in interesting arc to keep in the backdrop of the case of the week stories. I think sooner or later she will commit and become a full member of the Haven PD.
The scenery of Nova Scotia Canada is amazing and works so well as locale for Haven, Maine.

BTW, I think the futoncritic.com website was wrong with the production numbers of these episodes. It indicated the episodes were airing out of order, but as far as I could tell the storytelling was not out of sequence.

Production order isn't always story order and some critics forget that. Sometimes an episode is shot earlier in production to allow for more time in post. Don't know if that's the case here, but there could be other reasons or they are airing out-of-order but not enough to affect story.
