Penn & Teller: Bull****: Area 51 - 07/15/10

Showtime, 9:00pm CDT

Is the government hiding alien spaceships? Follow a team of UFO hunters on an overnight expedition in search of mysterious aircraft flying above a secret military facility known as Area 51.
Finally an episode I'm actually looking forward to. It will be silly and wacky and entirely like shooting fish in a barrel. But this season, that's relatively good.

With the rest of the season being:

7 - Criminal Justice
8 - Old People
9 - Self-Esteem
10 - Vaccinations

I see the finale as being the one potentially great show of the season. Although Criminal Justice holds some promise:

Is America's criminal justice system weighed down with bad science, ineffective methods, incompetence and corruption? Penn & Teller set out to reveal that the only thing scarier than crime is America's war on crime.

Pretty much what I expected. The Lear part (particularly his intro) was hilarious.

Yeah, really shows how they can gear you towards one protagonist or another just via editing. We're so easily manipulated.

I liked this episode. I liked how at the end they portrayed the friends as just that and not total crazies -- even though they were.

Next week's episode looks real good.

Edit: Oh and I'm really gonna hate the last episode if they take the side that vaccinations are BS.

You don't really think they'll do that, do you? I sure don't. In fact, that never even entered my mind.

I have no interest in Area 51, but this was a decent episode. I also liked that they ended it with a BBQ.

Very highly unlikely.

Lame.

Area 51 is so 1980s. Everyone knows they've moved all of the alien shit to Dulce.

Let's see... on one side we have corporate America and a multibillion dollar industry... on the other side, there's Jenny McCarthy and her new agey indigo mom/crystal child stuff...

...even factoring Jenny McCarthy's tits (and those boys do love them some titties) into the equation, it's not going to be much of a contest.

I just facepalmed whenever the Area 51 fanatics came on screen to spout their ridiculous beliefs.

Anyway I have never come across a bad episode. There are times where I don't side with P&T, but every episode is entertaining and funny, even the topics I have no interest in. Love this show!
