Shit, I knew it was going to happen like that but I bailed to work on my halloween costume. I did do the hard thing and had someone look it up on their digital cable guide and its at 1 am. Cant wait!
Oh and I thought Beavis sounded great. Stewart sounded off, and mybe Im stretching it, but didnt that voice actor commit suicide?

I loved it. I didn't mind the recycled animation, it's not like it was completely foreign. While it would be nice to have a consistent look, I'm not going to worry about it since they barely show them in those segments anyway.

also (remembering from Simpsons commentaries) its actually not too hard to just change the lip sync for using recycled animation

Yeah this was good... I laughed out loud a number of times. The Teen Mom and Florida jokes were really funny.

Unlike the Kimmel video posted earlier in this thread, I loved this episode. I felt like I was back in HS. I look forward to seeing more.
Except the recycled animation was obviously sourced from old interlaced tapes. It looked totally off.

i'm wondering if they reused the old animation so that they could pump out a ton of shows.

Not a fan of B&B back in the day, but being a huge KOTH fan, it was good to have Judge's sensibilities back on TV. Very funny stuff.

I'm guessing they reused the stuff for the videos as a cost cutting measure. Why go and reanimate if we got all this old footage of them on the couch? Of course the other side of that argument would be that they could reanimate and then use the new stuff over and over, so it all looks consistent.
Judge just can't hit the Beavis voice anymore, but that's been known for years. Stuart sounded way off, almost like he hasn't hit puberty yet. Van Dressen and Buzzcut were spot on.
Other than that, it feels like the same show from 15 years ago. I thought it was a great idea to have Beavis get back his "fire fire fire" chant in the very first video. Guess they don't have to worry about kids setting trailers on fire with everything else they show on MTV these days. I did kind of miss the disclaimer. I saw it so often back in the 90s that I looked at it as part of the opening.
Welcome back B&B, I just hope today's MTV generation is ready for you.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV
I feel like I went back in time, and it was awesome. I hope they stay on the air for a long time to come.
Concerning Beavis' voice. The 2nd episode I kinda agree with you. When he would repeatedly tell Butthead "I was not crying", his voice deffinately was missing some of the high pitch.
But if you go back and watch the first episode, Beavis' voice sounded spot on and didn't sound barely any different than he did in the later Beavis and Butthead episodes. Do yourself and watch the Warewolves episode again and compare his voice to the Crying episode so you can hear the difference. Maybe he was just a little off on Crying, but Warewoves shows that his voice is still perfectly capable to come pretty damn close.

Yeah this and the slight voice change at times, almost made it seem like they were trying too hard to be funny (were saying things they wouldn't typically say). So, some hit and miss, but them ripping on Jersey shore was hilarious.

I loved it but let first start with my complaints.
-I don't expect the same controversy from back in the 90s, but I miss the disclaimer at the beginning.
-I wish they redid the animation that loops thru the videos.
-I like the first cartoon better than "Crying"
But the two moments that made me laugh out loud, was the mocking of "The Bachelor". It just reminds me of what I do every time I watch it. Then sitting in the theater watching Twilight it was so true, making fun of the wooden dialogue while the women eat it up. They couldn't have written it any better.

Really great news:
Beavis & Butt-Head was the #1 show on cable last night. 1.8 in 18-49, but a 2.6 in 12-34 (MTV's target demo).
Here's MTV's blurb:
SANTA MONICA, CA (OCTOBER 28, 2011) - MTV's all-new animated comedy block bowed to strong ratings Thursday night, with the return of the all-new Mike Judge's "Beavis and Butt-Head" scoring a 2.6 P12-34 rating and 3.3 million total viewers at 10:00 p.m. Garnering a 3.4 M12-34 rating, the premiere performed incredibly well with males, who comprised over two-thirds of the audience. Ranking as MTV's top series among M12-34, behind only megahit "Jersey Shore," "Beavis and Butt-Head" doubled the network's primetime average among M12-34, even while facing game six of the World Series. Following at 10:30 p.m., the premiere of new series "Good Vibes" retained over half of its lead-in, with a 1.4 P12-34 rating and 1.6 million total viewers, up from the network's new series averages.

If only they hadn't cancelled Warren the Ape, then there would actually be a full watchable hour of programming on MTV for the first time in YEARS!

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV
The only thing I'm saddened by is that "Jersey Shore" has more viewers than Beavis & Butthead, or more viewers than a steaming pile of poop in your livingroom floor. Both shows involve watching someone that is stupider than you. But one is created by a guy who has actual talent and is actually funny. And one is about people who have no talent what-so-ever, and are vulgar and scum.
I know some people will compare B&B and Family Guy to the likes of SouthPark. But the humor in the first 2 is actually funny, even though it's toilet humor. Whereas shows like SouthPark and Jersey are just complete vulgarities. Why people would even watch crap like that is beyond me. I fear for America.
