Me too... didn't care too much for the first episode but liked the second one a little better. The early problem here is they are not very bright about the situation so far which is really annoying. The makers of the show should be trying to out think us and all situations. They have been there for a couple of days and NO ONE has tried to find if they have a link yet and after their van ride they all slumped back to their room like whipped puppies. It better pick up or I am done. It has learned nothing from Lost in which there would be many questions that they should be sitting around asking but yet the prissy gal that thinks it is all about her gets a new dress. Wow.

I too am still watching although I expected more from Christopher (The Usual Suspects) McQuarrie. I share a lot of the same opinions as what's summarized above.

This had better become more interesting in the next half-hour or I may be out. It's just plodding along in a boring way. The biggest problem is that most of the characters aren't really likable or interesting and I really don't give a crap about them.

"Hey! Do you guys think we should interrogate the manager dude?"
"Nah, he obviously doesn't know anything despite having run right through the forcefield and having an escape plan for the gas."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Let's just leave him completely alone."

This show reminds me of Heroes. It's just not very good and I only keep watching because I'm hoping it gets better. At least I won't get dragged through four seasons with this.

It ain't great, but I'm enjoying the show. I think it would have worked better as a shorter miniseries, though.

That's the one thing that drives me nuts. Yes, they addressed the idea early on but only dismissed it when he convinced them he had nothing to do with it. But that forcefield scenes proved he was lying so you think they would reevaluate that decision. In the very least I would have surrounded him at all times (and now allowed him to get to a gas mask) when the gas scare was going on, so the powers would be would be forced to gas the manager as well as the group.

Consistently bad acting and dialog. At least it's consistent. But damn if it isn't pushing some of the right buttons. Yeah, the gas mask scene was ridiculous. Afterwards I realized I had been holding my breath during the scene. I like the reporter side of the story up until the ending twist. The fat guy should have his ass kicked every week.

The Gas mask sequence was ludicrous and I think it was a missed opportunity to change things up.
Other than that, it was an alright episode. Didn't really advance the plot much. I don't think the back story about Charlie suffocating his sick wife and the anguish he's feeling added much to the overall arc.
I know most of you probably feel this, but Janet has gotten really annoying. The fact that she constantly uses her daughter as an excuse, especially in the Gas mask sequence is not making her really sympathetic. She's the heroine, but not a really likeable one.
The twist at the end with the reporter being Janet's ex was interesting, but didn't really make much sense. So he's a scumbag dead beat Dad who abandoned his wife and child, yet Janet hires Mr. PI to look for him and he's living and working in the same town as Janet for a major newspaper?
I hope they have a plan in the next week or 2 to shake up the cast and knock off some of these people.

Your probably right. Now that I think about it, he interviewed Janet's mother a few episodes ago (who was supposedly be his mother in law) about her disappearance and they acted like strangers to each other.

I'm still in it. This episode dragged but the first two were good.
My guess: everyone is in on it. It's a psychological experiment and "they" approached all the characters and offered them money to be part of it. The only thing is that they don't know that each other are in on it.

The show has me hooked so far.
It would be much more believable if there was no night manager or Chinese workers. So far they don't really add much to the show other than make me wonder why the people would rather dig a hole for a week than just talk to the night manager and see what he really knows

I'd think it was a photoshop set up too. Otherwise the PI knew he was the exhusband the first time he met him and he didn't act like he really cared.
