Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Anybody else watch this? It's on after The Hard Times Of RJ Berger on MTV.
It's a spin-off of Greg The Bunny, basically taking Warren from the previous show and putting him into a reality show about how his life has changed since the show was canceled. Dr. Drew is his therapist. I thought it was pretty funny, good pairing with Hard Times. In fact I'm amazed that MTV has put out not one, but two watchable shows for the first time since Beavis And Butt-Head left the air. Basically is you like the idea of a cute little puppet with drug, alcohol and sex addictions, you'll probably like this show. |

Finally watched it yesterday, thought it was hilarious.. Can't believe that MTV is pushing the boundaries with shows like this and RJ, but I'm not complaining!

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
I really wanted to love it, but I didn't. The premise seems great, but I just didn't find it real funny-very much like the way I felt about Greg the Bunny, too.

Wonder Showzen Boiling Points The Andy Dick Show The Assistant Sifl & Olly 3 South (funniest most underrated animated comedy ever) Getting back to Warren, the second episode was awesome. Greg The Bunny makes his first appearance, and we get a Dungeons And Dragons scene. Warren's reactions to Greg and his friends was priceless. Next week Judy Greer guest stars! |
Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010

This show is fuckin hysterical! |
Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
 I like it a lot and think its brilliant but I fear something this awesome will suffer the same fate as past MTV shows Wonder Showzen and Austin Stories.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
First it was the MTV movie awards, now the Parents television council is mad about Warren The Ape.
http://www.parentstv.org/PTC/cable/2010/0625.asp The Worst Cable Content of the Week In line with the network’s never-ending quest to force-feed teenagers and children sexually explicit material, MTV’s new puppet series, Warren the Ape (Mondays, 10:30 p.m. ET), barrages young viewers with non-stop references to pedophilia, prostitution, pornography, masturbation, and drug use. The premiere episode, shown on June 14th, was definitely the Worst Cable TV Show of the Week. The premise of Warren the Ape is itself a pathetic parody of so much of the “celeb-reality” programming that passes for entertainment on MTV’s sister network VH1 (both channels are owned by entertainment giant Viacom). Warren is a small, furry puppet and presumably a former star of a children’s program, a “D-list celeb trying to clean up his act.” The episode’s first scene shows real-life therapist and VH1 omnipresence Dr. Drew Pinsky (star of Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew) talking to the puppet as if it were a real person. Dr. Drew interviews Warren about drug and alcohol use. Warren says he drinks a few airline bottles of alcohol a day. Warren: “It's probably in the area of a (bleeped s***) load.” Dr. Drew: “Pot?” Warren: “Yeah.” Dr. Drew: “Cocaine?” Warren: “Snorting, only habitually.” Later, Warren decides to surreptitiously make a sex tape of fellow puppet Chauncey the Bear. Chauncey enters a motel room with Peg the prostitute. Peg removes her pants, with the viewer seeing her panties. Chauncey removes his own, revealing a blurred but unmistakably large penis. Warren: “Holy (bleeped s***)! Just one more reason to hate the son of a bitch!” Peg has sex with Chaucney while Waren watches singing, “I put my (bleeped c***) inside your (bleeped p****).” As a result of Warren’s maneuvers, Chauncey the Bear becomes a porn star. The episode concludes at an awards show for pornographic movies, where a porn actress shows her behind to cameras, with her crotch blurred for exposed genitalia; Chauncey discusses the size of his penis with male porn actor; and a porn actress approaches him and offers to “do the motorboat,” after which she buries his head in her cleavage and batters his face with her breasts. Ultimately, Chauncey wins an award consisting of a vibrator attached to pedestal, which Warren rubs in a sexual manner. Nor has the program’s gut-wrenching combination of children’s puppets and explicit sex abated. The June 21st episode featured Warren recounting picking up a woman in a bar, going home with her, and waking up “with a cattle prod in my ass;” a scene set in a bordello, in which Warren introduces his fellow puppet “Greg the Bunny” to prostitutes and Internet porn; and a concluding scene in which he urges Greg to go to a young girl’s house for sex, which results in the puppet being arrested as a child molester. The episode also included Warren bellowing to his friend what could be a MTV’s own credo: “You are a loser!...I’m a degenerate gambler, I’m a sex addict and I’m a drug addict, and I am less of a loser than you are! I mean, godd**** it, God gave you a set of (bleeped f******) balls!” After Greg is arrested as a pedophile, Warren addresses his therapy group, yelling, “Abstinence does nothing!” Considering that the network habitually rates Warren the Ape as being appropriate for 14-year-olds, a better summation of MTV’s corporate message – and the attitude which it is inculcating in children – could hardly be imagined. |
Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
People in this country just constantly need to bitch about something. If this Parents Television Council doesnt like it, they dont have to watch. There are ways to stop children from watching these shows nowadays.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Plus, all this does is makes the kids want to watch the show more in spite of their parents. And if they cant watch it on tv, its not like they cant watch it online, or download it legally/illegally.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
lmao Tonights episode was great! Lookin forward to next week's episode w/ Seth Green.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Best episode yet. The PTC should have a field day with this one. Although to be honest TV-14 is pushing it for this show. I'm not saying I support the PTC, but this show feels like a TV-MA to me. Sure they bleep stuff, but this is some pretty harsh content.
Still, always great to see kids in strip clubs and bars ordering Scotch. Judy Greer was woefully underutilized here. |
Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
The best was their reaction at the dog fighting...and then later the girl saying she won money off of it!
|
Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
The PTC shouldn't be complaining, the new episodes are shown at 9:30/10:30 on Monday, and all the reruns for the week are shown late at night.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
So did anyone watch last night. I guess Greg the Bunny got out of jail.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Latest episode was the weakest so far, but still had some funny: Warren at the intercom to Seth's and the iPod.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Great stuff with Seth Green. The whole car accident scene was awesome. That was his actual wife by the way, he really scored a winner there.

Re: Warren The Ape - Series Premiere - "Big Score" - 06/14/2010
Oh man, this episode was fantastic! I was laughin so hard at cecil's screaming when he hit Seth. I love how Seth always plays an asshole too.
"Come down, I look like John Cusack from that movie" rotfl Who played Greg's "servant robot" and where can i get me one of those! ;) |
