America's Got Talent -- The Auditions Thread -- Tuesday/Wednesday on NBC

It looks like the auditions are going to continue at least for another 2 weeks. I'll do an updated thread when the talent gets chosen for the Live shows.

This act was featured in last week's show. Thought it was going to be really lame, but turned out kinda cool:

The one thing that was lame was the Star Wars music.

I thought there was going to be 2 hours tonight, there was a bit right before the episode that "we are mixing it up tonight"...

My stupid NBC cut off the magician, he came out from the back, it cut to a promo for the 11 o'clock news, then another commercial, then back to the judges reviews of his performance. I guess his name was Michael, one of them said it.

I don't think they have found the "one" yet this season, they have passed a lot of mediocre acts.

It's back to 2 episodes a week. There was only 1 episode last week because of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals last Wednesday.

So what was the point of X'ing that terrible old lady...and then sending her through?? I couldnt believe that was sent to vegas while that 10 year old girl and her family got turned down..

And what a shock, that "Precious" girl's mother made it... wouldnt be surprised if she wins.

The promo that my local NBC aired specifically said there were 2 hours Tuesday night.

I guess there will be 2 hours next Tuesday, 1 on Wednesd

I posted it last year, but here's a good review blog.

I can't believe I actually watched this, but with On-Demand, I can scan through most of it. The inserts of Nick cannon making stupid comments while they are performing is almost enough to make me quit watching the show altogether. That is one of the most irritating aspects of this show by far.

It seems if you are a senior citizen or had a grand-mother die in a nursing home or got your self clean after spending 25 years on the streets, you automatically get to go. Howie lets almost anyone through and though I think Sharon sees some of these people as unworthy, her emotions take over and she lets them through. Pierce seems to be the only really realistic one. I do believe he missed it on the fake "Illusionist" though. That was definately a parody act.

What about Michael Grasso? The magic act that all the judges wet themselves over? Granted, he has probably been the most talented magician on the show so far. But what he did isn't exactly original or unique. It's fairly obvious to see HOW he did it. The curtain is up just a bit too long for him and the girl to get in and out of the glass box, and it's clear a fake hand is "holding" up the curtain.

Maybe it's just in the day of DVRs and being able to rewatch these things ruins the illusion...perhaps seeing this live would be more impressive. But watch this video closely...keep your eyes on the hand coming out of the box. You will notice that in an instant the hand turns from left to right.

Question: who's left hand is sticking out of the box after the guy is in there?

The guy has a decent style. I hope he goes on in the show. Perhaps if he polishes his act he can become more professional and do a better job at covering up these gaffes.

They just put through a kid with epilepsy that flies kites as his talent.
Okay, I get that he does this because he loves it and it helps him with his situation, but this is definitely not what I would pay money to see on a stage.

Half of the acts that have gotten put through I would never pay to see on a stage...

An old lady that does hand whistling?? really??

Whatever happened to the dude that won last year? Or the year before? Neal something? The opera singer that worked as a postman?

For that matter, where's the kid that won the first season? My God, it's worse than Idol, these people fade into oblivion after the show.

Looks like the only real successful one was Terry Fator, he basically signed his life away to Vegas.

Was there really a kid flying a kite on stage? WTF?

Anyone see tonight.
The rock climbing dancers weren't really doing anything plus I think they may actually be brother and sister.

I wish we WERE kidding about that! Sadly, yes, there was. Nice for him, but that's not a show.

They said they were engaged to be married.

The last audition of the night is always passed, usually something "amazing" or "uplifting"...

I found this video of the guys from a couple of weeks ago, "Fighting Gravity" that did that black light illusion stuff, how they created it...

I was half kidding.
They said met while rock climbing.
If you see them they look very much alike. The show had them sitting next to each other and they really could be twins.
