Re: The Next Food Network Star -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 6/06/10
The biggest problem I can see with this show, already, is ... I don't have some of these ingredients and, even if I wanted to make something, I probably don't want to make it so much that I'd go to an specialty grocery.

I thought it was interesting that they're running a short ad thanking viewers for making TNFNS the top-rated food show on cable. So I guess it passed Top Chef.

Oh, and I thought the title graphics looked juvenile

Tom Pizzica is getting his own show called Outrageous Food Stuffed into the bottom of the Food Network's press release about Aarti Sequeira winning the Next Food Network Star is news that runner-up Tom Pizzica is getting his own show called Outrageous Food, described as a "traveling food show featuring out-of-this-world eats." Good for Tom. I'll watch that show. I have no interest in Aarti's show.

Now I will watch his show. |

No love for Herb, who was also a runner-up? Or did they rank them without telling us?

Re: The Next Food Network Star -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 6/06/10
Tom's show, -"Outrageous Food" - has quietly made it's way on The Food Network. Frankly, I only knew it was on because a friend mentioned the show, though he knew nothing of Tom or "NFNS".
Its a half-hour show that seems very similar to "Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives", partly because of the type of food featured, but primarily because Tom's "style" is pretty similar to Guy Fieri's. I will say that Tom is trying very hard and that's sort of the best and worst thing about it. Hopefully with a little seasoning (no pun intended) he can develop his own style. |

I don't see this show lasting long, the only reason I watched it was because I had been to the hotdog place on the show. |

I'm really out of the TV loop. I just discovered that Tom has his own show. So far, I like it.... he's a nice guy and it's enjoyable.

But he's really wooden to me still. Still has that deer-in-the-headlights look.
Also, season 5 runner-up Jeffrey Saad has his own show on the Cooking Channel called United Tastes of America. http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/unit...ica/index.html |
Re: The Next Food Network Star -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 6/06/10
I've watched Tom's show a couple times. Kind of a combination of DDD and Man vs. Food, but I haven't hated it.
