What? So they were all really in purgatory? In the end jack went into the light?
And people forget Jack only really knew Renee for less than 48 hours. All that fuss.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- 2 Hour Series Finale -- "2:00pm to 4:00pm" -- 05/24/10

It all started on November 6, 2001. I was merely a high school kid sitting in my parent's living room watching a premiere that had the most unique premise I've ever heard.

It all ended today, May 24, 2010. Thank you "24" for giving us the most thrilling, explosive, violent, emotional, and bloody show in television history.

3...2...1...see you when the movie comes out

Loved the finale. I've been with 24 since the beginning. So many great moments. Two that I'll always remember were the hacksaw scene from season 2 and the axe to the arm of Chase in season 3. And then the full body armor Jack this season was fucking amazing. So long Jack, see you on the big screen.

What a great show I am going to miss. It was just pure fun...one of our (wife too) favorite shows to watch. Action packed, suspense, and it was easy to make fun of certain plot holes and still enjoy it. Of all ended shows, this is probably my favorite of all time.

I enjoyed it. The only reason I voted "thought it was good" rather than "Loved it!" was because
Spoiler:
I wanted Jack to play more of a pivotal role in the end rather than spend most of it on a gurney. The choice to do the right thing became the President's rather than Jack forcing her hand... maybe that's the best ending, but I wanted that last showdown.. that last Jack attack.

Anyway, I love this show.. this season is the first one I started on. In the middle of it, I went back and blew through seasons 1 and 2 and have just started season 3. Really really love this show. Didn't know what I was missing all these years.

Jack did kind of get one more time to attack when he tried fighting with the officer, but he got overpowered

That's true, but
Spoiler:
by this point in the show, I so detested the President, that to see the focus of the end of the show be about her 'redeeming' herself and becoming the sort-of hero.. well, I just wanted to see her dragged away in cuffs, instead. I get it though, the point seems to always be that Jack is behind the scenes and never truly gets the credit for saving the country.

That said, I enjoyed the episode and the season a lot. Really love the girl who plays Chloe. Loved her in Punch-Drunk Love and thought she was great in this role.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- 2 Hour Series Finale -- "2:00pm to 4:00pm" -- 05/24/10

Phenominal Series Finale.

Words really cannot describe the emotions of seeing one of my favorite shows of all time go out on top, especially on such a creative high. Huge Props to Kiefer Sutherland for working his butt off for the last 8 seasons (10 months a year) playing such an iconic & memorable character in television history.

The final scene with Kiefer and Mary Lynn was IMO one of the most emotional moments of the entire series. The fact that Jack recognized what Chloe has meant to him all these years and how she always had his back was a great close for the show. Huge Props to Howard Gordon for writing such a memorable and emotional scene. I would have never guessed that Chloe O'Brian would be such an important part of the show's history back in Season 3 when she was 1st introduced.

I have to say as far as these 2 hours go, another memorable scene was the exchange between Dalia Hassan and President Taylor after Hassan learned the truth about the cover-up was phenominal acting by both Cherry Jones and Necar Zadegan.

There were no crazy shootouts, explosions or kills..I think this is one of the cases where less is indeed more.....BTW, loved Vampire Jack making his triumphant return on Pillar.

I'm just glad that when all was said and done, President Taylor realized she screwed up big time and apologized to Jack. Cherry Jones did great work the last 2 seasons and in 24: Redemption...She made me forget Wayne Palmer and Noah Daniels.

I was surprised at how really insignificant Eriq La Salle's role was. That could have been played by anyone.

I think Charles Logan took the easy way out at the end. The guy was a coward who was obsessed with power, but didn't want to attain it the right away. I think they left it open for Logan to possibly be a nemesis to Bauer in the feature films if he indeed survives. Greg Itzen is such a great actor. As a fan, I'm happy that he has been part of the 24 world for 4 seasons.

Now with Jack on the run and apparently headed to Europe, I'm looking forward to seeing where Billy Ray and Howard Gordon take the next chapter of Jack Bauer's life. Goobye 24, See you on the big screen!

Great finale. I loved the goodbye scene between Jack and Chloe.
It's good to see the show ending with a pretty great season.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- 2 Hour Series Finale -- "2:00pm to 4:00pm" -- 05/24/10

My interpretation was that jack died shortly after being shot by Chloe. We see him shut his eyes for a brief moment and then everything starts turning around and stuff just doesn't make sense after that. Taylor had no reason to change her mind, the technology to call the jacks potential killers doesn't exist, jack just shrugs off his knife and gun shot wounds.

Jack is finally left running without his family because he cant face them after everything he did that day and he was born to run. The countdown was to 0 because that's when his soul finally moved on.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- 2 Hour Series Finale -- "2:00pm to 4:00pm" -- 05/24/10

I certainly liked the finale a lot, especially the first hour. I love the way they made Taylor threaten Dalia if she pulled out, basically removing any sympathy we felt for her being manipulated by Logan. That was great move and at that time, I figured she'd go down in flames. I admit thought that I was initially disappointed Jack didn't kill Suvarov, but it makes sense that Jack didn't end up killing a president.

I remain disappointed though that Jack was basically a non factor in the last hour. Taylor decided to do the right thing by listening to his audio. I did love Logan shooting himself though, truly spineless. I think that granting Jack a pardon would definitely send the wrong message by Taylor, after all he was in the press again as the bad guy and so many would have known about all his kills. This was a good send-off for a show, opens doors for the movie. I must agree that I would have liked someone important to free up Jack at the end, like Tony, but would have made no sense.

I hope the movie isn't about someone (like Russians) using Kim/Terry to get to him though.

Holy Shit...

Just finished it. I don't think it could've gone out stronger. The ending was incredible. That empty "That's it?!" feeling I had with Lost just last night was nowhere to be found. Just, incredibly happy with the way they ended everything here.

And the "3,2,1.." countdown as well as the return of "Events Occur in Realtime" were marvelous touches. Kudos, this is how a series finale is done!

Bring on the movie!
