The Office -- Season Finale -- "Whistle Blower" -- 05/20/10

The Office

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The press finds out that Sabre's printers catch on fire. Jo (guest star Kathy Bates) shows up to the office in hopes of finding out who the whistleblower is. Everyone suspects Andy (Ed Helms), who adamantly denies he leaked the information.

FYI, Kathy Bates will not return next season as she is the lead of the new NBC show Harry's Law.

Office finales have been hit or miss. This sounds dicey.

Same here. I used to look forward to Thursdays for Office and was so excited. Then it went away.

Now I'm excited for tv for Thursdays again, this time for Community.

For not liking Kathy Bates in the Office, I really liked this episode. I thought there were alot of great funny moments. I like how they handled the printer story, nice to hear we might have Holly back. So I thought it was a very good episode.

I wonder since Carell has said next seasons probably his last wonder if they will have Holly come back and next season they will end with him moving somewhere with her or wedding something along that road.

Meh. Very weak for a finale. Actually, imo, weak for a regular episode.

I noticed that too!

Otherwise, I felt this episode to be kinda on the weaker side (atleast compared to Community and Parks & Rec). I was hoping they were gonna go with a twist with who actually leaked it to the press (I was expecting it to be Nick or the guy from Sabre), but they decided to just go w/ Andy.

So Holly will more than likely be comin back next season, I wonder if this was done to get Steve Carell to stay longer? Maybe set-up the relationship next season and end it w/ the proposal and have the wedding in the following season?

Pretty good episode, but like HIMYM, I think it's time to wrap this one up. If Carrell does call it quits, I hope the show has the smarts to not go on without him.

Considering they had four potential whistleblowers, I thought going with Andy WAS a good twist.

I loved this episode. A great end to a great season. Lots of funny moments. Dwight's alchemy line, the lair question, Kelly's "I think I tweeted it," Ryan's "Woof" bit, Kevin running to his desk, Oscar's slow nod when Dwight said they thought the last IT guy was a terrorist, the IT guy flicking them all off, and several of Michael's lines. Had a smile on my face the whole time.

Here's to a great season 6. And if it's the last (which I too would be fine with) then I'm hoping it's as good as this season was.

Re: The Office -- Season Finale -- "Whistle Blower" -- 05/20/10

I was disappointed in this as a season finale. The only point that made it relevant was the Holly bit.

There were a few laughs, and the Slough reference was nice, but I just expected more.

I'm pleased, I thought it was a good as could be expected. The Woof thing was great and I liked Darryl looking down in shame when it's revealed that he's on Facebook.

Kevin running to his desk was fantastic.

Couldn't have said it better myself (though I'm still sorta new to HIMYM, so it has yet to wear out its welcome with me). This was definitely one of the better episodes this season, but this show is simply running out of steam.

I can't believe they didn't just blame Nick for squealing. He was leaving and it would have been perfect.

I loved Andy's "For all we know, it could be Jim."

Jim: "Really?"

Whoever figured out how to change Bates' character was well served. This is what she needed, this is who she should be, her scenes with Michael were just about perfect.

This was a good episode. It's been an up and down season but this one stands out as one of the better ones.
