Cougar Town -- "Feel a Whole Lot Better" -- 5/5/10

Cougar Town

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Jules and Grayson ponder a "friends with benefits" relationship; Andy hires a nanny; Bobby hatches an unusual moneymaking scheme that yields dividends for Travis.

Episode 22 of 24

Question: Was there any quote from Bill Lawrence saying they were definitely re-branding this show next season with a new name? I think it would be suicide for a show in it's 2nd season to have an entirely new name. I know the show isn't even about Cougar's at all, but still.

I haven't seen anything definitive. I did agree with you that rebranding would be suicide, but last week, someone pointed out that both Seinfeld and Ellen were rebranded shows (though Seinfeld only slightly), and both of those did OK, so who knows.

Not sure why, but the wife and I just cracked up when Grayson dropped down in the background for coffee.

Love the timing the whole group has developed.

Ugh. Ellen had to change. "These Friends of Mine"? Really?

How about "The Clu de Sac"? I concur that changing the name could damage the show's viewership.

Great episode though.

Is this the first episode not named after a Tom Petty composed song? (I know he covered it on 'Full Moon Fever.')

My wife is out of town so I haven't watched it.

I can't believe I never noticed that.

Also, the first episode was titled "Pilot," but otherwise this is the first one named after a song Petty didn't write (or at least co-write).

I laughed too. That was a funny sight gag.

This show's funny, and the group having great timing helps.

I love that they keep going back to Greyson's tiny eyes. Its hilarious because the actor really does have small eyes and he cannot do anything about it in real life, but its awesome that the characters would pick on that.

He looks sexy with the small eyes.
