Anybody who's sensitive to LOST spoilers should watch it the night it airs. It's a "watercooler show" and unless you live in a cave you're going to hear what happens.

Maybe in your circle. I only personally know 3 people that watch the show and I've never once heard the show even mentioned at work. If I were to hold off on watching the episode until the weekend I could easily avoid spoilers and getting the mail shouldn't be one of them. But like I said in my follow-up post, that wasn't the case with the magazine.

Re: Lost -- "The Candidate" -- 05/04/10
You need to rewatch the scene, badly.
1) Wrong
2) The sub did not appear to be sinking at that point, it was merely taking on water.
3) What a massive drop in the sea floor mere minutes from the Island!
4) See above (i.e., you are wrong)
5) True.
Maybe nuking the fridge should be replaced with posting by johnnysd?

The finale is on a Sunday? Thanks for that, I had no idea. I did hear that they added 30 minutes to the finale, to make it a total of 2:30. Although, I'm guessing there will be about 5 additional minutes of Lost and 25 minutes of advertisements.

I'm going to guess the reason was they blew the effects budget already.

Just finished watching this today and I don't really have anything to add other than it was probably one of the saddest hours of TV this season. It sucks to see 3 lead characters from the original cast go in such an awful way. Lapidus...whatever. He served his purpose.
BTW, I don't know how the hell any of you who type a million conspiracy blurbs here when the show is going live can even concentrate on the show? Do you have your laptops in front of you and hit pause and rewind to analyze every single scene? Kudos to you if you like to do that.

I've had a busy couple weeks with buying a house so i'm 2 episodes behind on Lost. When I'm behind I avoid all spoilers (turn channel if ad pops up, turn off radio if people are talking about it, I don't even come into these threads). The only thing I can't avoid is getting the mail. Thanks.

Here is what I think. At the end of the show, when the "battle" comes to a close the island sinks, but more importantly all effects of Jacob and the island are completely removed from the ENTIRETY of their lives. We are just catching up to them on the plane, but their entire life to that point is different. Through fate or kharma or whatever you want to call it, certain events and aspects of their lives stay the same.

OK so no one has mentioned this:
Exactly how did they get back to the island?
They are on a sinking sub taking on water. They have tiny little cannisters of air for "buddy breathing", probably 5-10 mins of air. So they have to:
1. Wait until the sub is completely flooded so they can leave
2. Swim really hard away from the sub so they are not pulled down with it
3. Buddy breathe to the surface, which by this point is a few HUNDRED feet or more.
4. Do this all in 10 mins or so without getting the bends
5. Then swim back to the coast
I think "nuking the fridge" has been replaced by "escaping the sub"

My biggest question was how Hurley got back while also helping Kate.

Haha, I got the Kate cover. It says "We'll Miss You, Kate" and "Inside the Shocking Deaths" with a huge picture of her.
Well damn you guys now for spoiling that she hasn't died.

Just saw this episode.
Kinda surprised by the reactions here. Boone and Libby's death were a hell of a lot more emotional for me than all the deaths in this episode put together. It just didn't work. I was more annoyed than sad. It was unnecessary and 'shocking' just for the sake of being shocking.
This is how they end Sayids story? This was the best way to show us that MIB is really evil? His masterplan was this dependent on coincidences?
For a guy who seems so determined and seemingly bad-ass, why is he so sloppy and ineffective?

I guess you missed my post above. You may not want to read any more of this thread if you haven't already, because EW did not put any spoilers on it's cover. There are 10 different covers and they are all saying they will miss that particular character because the show is ending.
BTW, what cover did you get?

Re: Lost -- "The Candidate" -- 05/04/10
Why is Widmore protecting the candidates now but in Season 4 he ordered Keamy's men to kill everyone on the island?
How did Locke know he would need a watch before he boarded the Ajira plane?
If you were Jack, Sawyer, etc., and you approached a sub guarded by Widmore's goons with your buddy the Smoke Monster, wouldn't you expect Smokie to go ahead of you to wipe them out for you?
I was also bummed to see Jin and Sun die after such a short reunion. I mean, they were kept apart for 2 seasons only to be reunited and then killed the next week. Sheesh.
I've always liked Kate. Not sure why people hate her so much.
By the way, have they answered yet why Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid ended up in 1977 when Ajira 316 landed on the island while Ben, Frank, Sun and Ilana didn't?

I just read the article and they interview some of the cast members from the past that died and Mira Furlong's thought mirrored mine. All that story and then she is just shot? That's it?
