The beeps at the end should have been "ding dongs" in honor of the evil witch being dead. Complete with her high heel shoes sitting at the base of the warehouse.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "11:00am to 12:00pm" -- 05/03/10

I'm so glad Dana is finally dead. That was a cold scene; it was intense and you could see Jack's thirst for revenge really spilling over. I don't have any sympathy for Dana though; she considered killing Cole, would have killed Jack given the chance, and wasn't sincerely offering her help at the end.

I think I felt a slight tremor from all the 24 fans around the world clapping in unison as Jack shot Dana. The second shot was just icing on the cake. I'm not sure if I hate the character so much because of how badly she messed up the first half of the season or because she is pure evil; I think it's a combination of both. Either way, this was far more satisfying than her helping and Jack letting her go...I think the writers gave us this ending to the character because they know how much we all hate her and blame her for the first half of the season.

I want to see what's going to happen with Cole. Part of me thinks he might have trouble trusting Jack (if they work together in the remaining episodes), but another part of me thinks he will understand why Jack did it...I mean, Dana did turn on Cole in the bank.

I think next episode we will see Chloe come back to the Jack-side. She knows something is fishy and I think we'll see her put her faith in Jack once again.

I really think though, if Dana had been cooperative once Jack and Cole rescued her, that he would have let her go. Jack is a man of his word, and I have no reason to suspect he would have gone back on what he said.

Really a remarkable episode. The second half of this season has been spectacular; it's just a shame it took so long to get here.

I found it funny that the NYPD Officer knew who Jack was, but that a lot of other people are totally unaware of Jack and his history. I'm glad he shot him in the foot; I've always asked why when people are trying to get away or keep someone from escaping, why they don't just shoot them in the foot or something.

---

Next week looks to continue the trend. I definitely think they're gonna stay strong until the end.

Spoiler:
Jack taking the blowtorch to the assassin's face...

Definitely a great episode and I agree, Jack would have let her go if she didn't get all cutesy and try to escape on her own. You don't fuck over Jack Bauer and get away with it.

I also think that Jack should ask some fresh-faced newbie "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!?!" every episode. That ruled.

That was just incredible! I screamed "YES!!!!!" when Jack pulled the trigger.

Regardless of what repercussions come of the action, that has to rank as one of the all-time best moments in the history of the show. LONG overdue! Although, now, there's one less goal for Jack to accomplish (not that he's not going to be busy trying to do the rest of what is needed).

After episodes like this, I wish more than ever that it would have another season.

She was dead either way, IMO.

Season 5 spoiler:

Spoiler:
Didn't Jack make the same promise to Henderson? If he helped Jack get Bierko, Jack would help him escape, or something like that?

"You weren't ever really gonna let me go, were you?"

"No."

I still think it's run its course, but man, that was one heck of an episode. If the show could keep up episodes like this on a regular basis, we'd never want it to end.

I wonder what symphony Logan is playing in his head whenever he is shown in the split screens.

Dana

Spoiler:
... but is she really gone?

The episode surely did not disappoint after last week's setup.

Sad to know this show is ending but at least it's going out with a bang. Can't wait for the remaining 4.

They should have left Chloe alone, now team Jack has a new member.

Yeah, that I noticed as well. I guess it could be realistic as English isn't her first language.

Reaction to Day 8: 11AM - 12PM

Great, fun episode!

Intro was fun. Seemed weird cheering for Bauer to save Dana.

Knew there would be a gun in the safe deposit box, but the mini explosion surprised me.

Great ending and nod to (day 3 spoiler)
Spoiler:
Nina's death.
Excellent!

Bauer needs to kill Logan and pistol whip Taylor for fun.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "11:00am to 12:00pm" -- 05/03/10

OMG, that was fucking awesome!

Ding Dong, the bitch is Dead! Thank You Jack Bauer! It's just sad that Season 8's 1st half was so inconsistent & bad for many fans that they actually bailed on the show before it got really good. The 2nd half has been a fucking incredible ride.

Jack was so cold blooded in this episode and I loved it. I loved when he took out DB Sweeney without even hesitating. The final scene when he took out Dana was icing on the cake. Dana was an awful character in the 1st half, but at least she gave us some entertaining TV in the 2nd half.

I have to give props to Michael Klick, who directed these last 2 episodes. He normally only produces the show, but he did phenominal work tonight. The roof top raid scene with Jack and Cole was great and the final scene (Callery's score was solid in that sequence) with Jack chasing Dana in the streets was very well done.

I have to scratch my head and wonder what the hell President Taylor is doing. She is digging herself into such a deep hole with her involvement with Logan. And now Logan sanctions the assassination of Jack which could lead back to her.

I cannot wait until next week.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "11:00am to 12:00pm" -- 05/03/10

I didn't think Jack would shoot her, though I wasn't totally surprised he did. Jack's killing spree begins.

That flash-bomb in the safety deposit box was silly. You could see it burned some of the papers inside, yet the passports and money weren't secured within. It was sheer luck that the passports, money, and data chip weren't torched along with the rest of the contents.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "11:00am to 12:00pm" -- 05/03/10

SO glad to see Dana gone, but a little surprised he'd just execute her. Killing Nina, the woman who murdered his wife, was totally believeable. But he and Red just hooked up a number of hours ago, so his revenge rampage seems slightly off. However, I guess if you look at it as the culmination of so much, of all he's done and gone through, of all the people who've turned on him, etc., it makes a bit more sense. She totally deserved it, of course--psycho who's killed who knows how many with no hesitation. Speaking of which, still no odor from the dead body she stuffed in the wall?

I'm no forensics expert, but doesn't it take a little longer than a small handful of hours for a body to start smelling from decomp? Additionally, if the ventilation system is still down from the EMP and no one has been in that room for some time, then that'll just prolong the eventual discovery.

The Quantum of Bauer continues... nice of Jack not to shoot Dana in the head so Cole could see he was a nice guy. Do banks not have surveillance in those safety deposit rooms? Just weird they barely see Jack outside of the bank that they don't have the facial recognition software pick up Dana strolling around, too. Looking forward to see this all the way thru to the finale.
