Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Pam and Jim team up for their first sales pitch together. They deliver it to the manager of a regional hot spot, resulting in mix-ups when Michael has difficulty deciphering body language. Meanwhile, Dwight pushes Mindy to participate in the minority training program. Amy Pietz guest stars.

I'm guessing that refers to Kelly, who is played by Mindy Kaling.

Amy Pietz.... isn't she the co-star in the "Caroline" sitcom (starring Lea Thompson) about 10-15 years ago? Wonder what she looks like now.

Didn't she play the manager of the bar that Jim/Pam/Michael/Pam's friend "double-dated" at a few episodes ago? The one that nearly threw Kangol-hat-wearing Michael out and then flirted with a short time later for some reason that could only make sense in the Office universe?

If that's her, she looked pretty damn good, IIRC.

michael - "i just cant stop kissing her"
kevin - "now u know how i feel sitting next to the bowl of m&m's

as funny as kevin is, they have turned his character into one continuous fat joke.

Solid episode.

I loved the line about the minority program being "too black" and his reaction to how bad that sounded; the actor pulled it off perfectly.

It was great that no one believed Michael there at the end.

Erin cracked me up when she said she would be so excited for Oscar or Stanley. And then Kelly being willing to sell her clothes she was going to donate to Good Will anyway, lol.

Even better was the next two lines:

Andy - Why don't you just move the M&Ms?
Kevin - WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP!?

Have you ever noticed that the only two things you can ooze are sexuality and pus?

Another great episode - one of my favorites this season.

Jim's expressions were killing me...he just looked shellshocked the whole time. I also like how Pam came to Michael's defense. She's always been a little bit on his side and I'm glad that came across here again. I also enjoyed Dwight's puppetmaster frustration.

Great episode, Amy Pietz was insanely hot.

For a show that's supposedly past it's prime The Office still delivers

Yes, a top-notch episode...and about time, since it's been really flat the past few weeks.
Plenty of LOLs and a fun story to boot!

I loved Oscar saying "You have genitalia all over your office" and then translating Michael's Spanish response.

"That's what he says?"

Agreed. LOVED it. What were some of Kelly's hobbies again that she told the guy interviewing her? Laughing too much to recall... Wasn't one of them "snake charming"?

Liked when Dwight said it sounded "more than Aiiiiight."

Great except for the predictable "surprise" ending where "she really liked him all along".

Only problem I had with that was that in any other episode of the show, the entire office would be watching what was going on from the window.

Loved the ep though.

True, that has definitely happened before. But this time, i'm sure they assumed she was already long gone. Some time passed between when she left and michael went out to the parking lot. Would they go to the window just to see him drive off?

yeah, I thought the same thing regarding everyone not watching from the window like usual. But they all assumed he was going to go to her restaurant, and also Gabe distracted everyone with the "Kelly management announcement"

Predictable yes, but I didn't find it a surprise. She seemed to make it pretty clear she was interested when he originally met her at her place of employment.

Totally agree. That little twist at the end more or less ruined what was otherwise a great episode. And I was really convinced (up to that moment) that the episode would end (sensibly) with either Michael following her to her workplace and discovering that she really was not interested, or him just continuing to make a fool of himself.

I know they foreshadowed her apparent interest in him in the previous episode at the bar. It was equally ridiculous in that episode that she would show any interest in Michael after he made a horse's ass of himself in that one, too. It really stretches the boundaries of credibility that any woman, let alone a pretty attractive one, would be attracted to Michael after seeing what a socially inept idiot he is (on two occasions, no less).

Then again, that has always been one of the weaknesses of the show - the premise that any reasonably attractive woman (Jan, Holly, and now the bar manager) would find Michael interesting when he constantly acts like a moron. The writers have mostly stuck to fairly reality-based character motivations except when it comes to Michael's attractiveness to women, which has been preposterous since after the first season (the first season episode with Amy Adams being the only one that got it "right"). I know that they (eventually) re-wrote Jan as loony, which to some extent would explain her relationship with Michael, but even that seemed like a contrivance.

I think a lot of that has been done as a concession to Steve Carell, who probably doesn't want to be stuck (or typecast) playing characters who are "losers." It reminds me a lot of the later seasons of Seinfeld, where Jerry was dating a different mega-hot model/actress type every week, which also seemed pretty absurd.

True, but that soon became a great part of seinfeld. How he would always find the smallest thing to complain about with such hot chicks.

I think it's beleiveable that every once in a while a hot woman would dig a lovable doofus like Michael. At least as far as TV believability goes.

And Jerry's continual stream of hotties was probably the least ridiculous thing about the late seasons of Seinfeld

No matter how hot a woman is, some guy, somewhere, is tired of banging her.

I was thinking Michael might try to cite the video evidence as proof, but they rarely ever invoke that. The only times the camera has "interfered" that I can recall is when the camera "told" Pam that Dwight was buying candy for Angela, and when the interviewers had Pam and Jim sit down to see video evidence of them being in a relationship/engaged (in order to get them to admit it).

I love Dwight. His puppetmaster comments were funny. Last week, I was laughing my ass off at:
"Sesame Street... Isn't that the program about the puppets who live in the barrio?" Too fricking funny!
